So me and my girlfriend wanted to have a nice little date together, and she really enjoys Jambalaya. Coming here was perfect. The service was nice, I had accidentally gotten the wrong order and was fixed immediately and still got to keep what was initially given.
The pastalaya is really good, a decent amount of spice but delicious. And just the general sit down area was comfortable!
Definitely planning another date here again.

Our server was super sweet! And all the food was perfectly seasoned! The jambalaya was just the perfect amount of dry where it tasted perfect! Definitely our new date spot 🥰 has that country charm.

Please Be Advised That We Can NO Longer Eat At This Location Since They Have Now Started To Make It Spicy!! They Wasn't Doing This Until Recently!! Heartburn Is Terrible!!

Let me start off by saying when I first walked in this restaurant I liked the layout of the place and thought the style of it was nice, however I should've taken it as a sign that something was off when nearly the whole restaurant was empty around lunch time. And because of the name of the restaurant I expected the Jambalaya here to be phenomenal: something that would knock my socks off. But the food left much to be desired; I got the Jambalaya dinner with white beans and green salad as sides, and honestly the food was mediocre. The taste and texture of the rice was like generic fried rice you'd get at a Chinese restaurant with a little seasoning, and the meat was mostly chicken with not much sausage in it....and on top of that the chicken was dry too. The green salad with the dressing was ok. The best thing on the plate was the white beans, and at least the bottled water was nice and cold. The cashier was nice though, but it didn't look like many people were working there that day. Also, my dad told me that the restrooms weren't in the best condition.

I lived in Gonzales for 23 years and now live in Hammond for 3 years now so I have been eating food from the jambalaya shop a long time. The sausage and pork jambalaya I got this evening was an embarrassment to say the least. There was not one piece of pork in our jambalaya and to make it worse there was literally 5 pieces of sausage in there as well. In other words I paid for a rice dinner. And the bad thing was when we decided to eat the shop was closed or you can bet I would have brought it back. I guess from now on I will have to open the box at the counter and make sure there’s meat in there. Disappointed.

Wife and I went to a lunch buffet. Do not get the buffet.
There is almost no food selection and the food that is present is not good.
The gumbo was the best thing on the list. Jambalaya was mushy. Pastalaya was mushy. Sausage, corn, and greenbeans were in unseasoned broth or water. The potato salad was overwhelmingly sweet, probably from sweet relish. The pudding is your standard sysco pudding.
The staff was friendly and I liked the decor. Unfortunately, staff all but ignored the buffet. From the time I walked in until I left, no staff member stepped foot in the buffet area.

There's a real why this place has poor reviews. I was pretty excited to come to Louisiana and get jambalaya, this was probably the worst I've ever had, way too bland and the chicken was dry. When I leave most my food you know it's not good.
