Absolutely obsessed with The Rind in Hammond!

This local cheese shop is a total hidden gem. From the moment you walk in, you can tell it’s run by people who really care about what they do. The cheese selection is incredible—everything from local Louisiana favorites to hard-to-find European imports. The staff is super knowledgeable and always happy to let you sample or help pair cheeses.

But let me talk about the real star of the show: the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo. Hands down, one of the most delicious grilled cheese & tomato soup meals that I’ve ever eaten. The sandwich was perfectly toasted, packed with a blend of melty, flavorful cheeses that clearly weren’t just thrown together. And the soup? Rich, smooth, with just the right touch of acidity and warmth. Pure comfort food, done at a level most places can’t touch.

The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the whole shop has this curated, thoughtful vibe—everything from the wine selection to the cheese knives feels intentional. Whether you're popping in to grab a wedge of something funky or sitting down for a quick bite, The Rind delivers.

Just tried The Cheesy Catch today — YUM! 10/10 would eat again. I love how they are always cooking up something new to offer customers. I am a big cheese lover and admire their selection. I’ve yet to try their grazing boards, but just from pictures, they are so creative with it! Love this place!

If you haven’t tried one of their boxed lunches you are missing out. Fresh food that is absolutely delicious and excellent customer service.

We love the Rind! The sandwiches are so flavorful and filling. It is a small menu but you're not lacking in choices. My new favorite is The Captain!

Ashley and the Rind team are ah-mazing. Not only are they knowledgeable about all the different cheeses they offer, they also serve great sandwiches & salads for lunch. The new sandwich each month is always so good. And Lori's chicken salad made fresh is the best! *****
