Visited here for the first time today. It was easy to miss because the sign off the street didn't say The Wandering Goat. I believe the sign said gelato and bakery. I parked in a spot near the pizzeria. Fortunately I didn't have to walk far to get to the bakery. I was expecting to see more baked goods. There were only about 5 or 6 that I could see. But maybe that had to do with the day of the week that I visited. I decided to try the strawberry Bundt cake. The owner said it was recently removed from the oven. I really enjoyed the cake. I initially thought it seemed a bit pricey. But after tasting the cake I realized it was definitely worth the price. I plan to return in the future to try other desserts.

What a GEM! Just happened to pull into the lot this past Friday to check them out, and so glad I did! Tried the Gelato and it was very flavorful and satisfying. Took home a beautiful braided loaf of bread and it was a big hit with our pasta dinner on Sunday. Today I tried the chicken salad sandwich on super freshly baked focaccia bread, and it was just superb. If you love turtle cookies, you'll have to try theirs.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly for sure.

Recently finally pinpointed where this was located.. I had searched high and low for bagels like I discovered in NC.. Got their bagels and it was phenomenal! Immediately went back to get another.. Person behind me bought all that were left... So I count the minutes until I can have another... BTW the Japanese milk bread takes French toast to the highest level of devine. On my list to try it all! Atmosphere warm and positive.. Owner overflowing with charm... My new favorite place.. it's under your nose, don't pass it by...Linda

We came here about 1.5 years ago. It is a cute little bakery and the sweetest owner. He was very friendly but at the time, you could tell he was a little sad because they were about to close for good. I had ordered a few sweet items, I can't remember exactly, one was a cannoli, I think maybe a brownie, a cake pop, and a cookie? I remember loving the little goat they put in the bag. And to show how kind the owner was, he threw in a could of extra cannolis. I remember the cannolis were a little try and I just didn't love the flavor. I don't think they were fresh. I think the brownie was also a little dry. But I think it w a s just bad timing when I went. I would like to go back to try their non sweet items like their Breads and sandwiches. Overall the kindness of the owner did go a long way and I will eventually return.

A group of us swung by after taking our kids to see the Christmas lights in Rivertown, and it was a fantastic experience all around. The gelato was delicious (between me and my kids, I sampled the Coffee, Biscoff, Wedding Cake, and Pistachio), and most importantly, the staff were wonderful. There are lots of board games on site for people to sit and play, and later in the evening once foot traffic died down a bit, one of the workers (who I think might have been the owner?) asked some of the kids if they'd played Battleship before, and then stood there for 10 minutes patiently teaching them how to play. It was a really sweet thing to watch, and myself and the other two moms really appreciated his kindness and patience with a large group of children coming in. Will definitely be back, for both the gelato and atmosphere!

This New Orleans gelato and bakery restaurant is noted for their cakes, breads, cookies and gelato and their other New Orleans dessert options. New Orleans has a lot of great food and Wandering Goat is one of the newer dessert restaurant options that could be easy to miss if you're not paying attention. The Wandering Goat is located in a small strip mall on Jefferson Highway in Harahan right next to the Happy Italian Pizzeria. Overall this a nice little spot to check out but make sure to check out their hours. My video review of The Wandering Goat is here:https://youtu.be/Hs1bk4R_66M

I highly recommend checking out this awesome, locally owned bakery and gelato shop. The brownies, cookies gelato and chicken salad on fresh made bread were all amazing!! This place also has a unique vibe where you can sit and enjoy playing games with your friends and family. Great fun - check it out!

Swung by on a whim and might have found a new favorite go-to place. We had a salami and cream cheese bagel and it was 10/10 - the salami was perfect. Also had some cannolis and I believe and an alfajores that were fantastic. He was super nice and the suggestion for the salami on the bagel was great. Love it here, definitely coming back!

They have been making sandwiches, the focaccia bread is to die for. So good. The Muffelata is on the focaccia bread. Amazing. Definitely worth a frive

I found this bakery around a year ago when I started working at a nearby shop and I have to say, I'll be a customer for life, even now that I work across town. I've had most options on the menu and I've yet to try anything I wasn't blown away by. The treats, cookies, bread, gelato, pepper jelly; everything has been amazing. Even my mom (who is on a health craze right now) loves this little bakery. Everything is made in house and there are gluten free options. They also do bagels and sandwiches and now milkshakes! There's always something new to try and the customer service is impeccable. This lovely little harahan spot is well worth going out of my way for every time.
