Love the jazz music. Beautiful place. Excellent service. Great food presentation. Bell pepper and spinach roll were spicy. The hot spice overpowered the flavor

Not sure whats happening to Barrows... but it hasn't been the same within the last year or so. And its sad to see. Example: ordered to go, missed half my order, waited 45 mins in person at bar, waitress and kitchen tried to fix, but shift leader/manager caught wind and decided to berate them loudly in front of me and other customers, yelling that its their fault and they shouldn't remake my order because me, the customer, should get cold food because his food cost is high and he didn't give them.permission to remake my order... true story from a week ago. Hmpf... and I wondered why the place was dead at 7pm on a Friday night... I know now. Had heard but never experienced it myself. I took the cold fish... and probably won't be back. Really sorry to say... and it hurts my heart in more ways than you can imagine if you're reading this to see what this place has become....

I WALKED IN AMD WALKED OUT FLOOR WAS VERY DIRTY

I was extremely disappointed
I have always ordered from the earhart location and this is the 1st and last time eating at the lapalco location
The fish was was not fresh but frozen
I had to ask for toast whhich always came with it. The toast was dry and not tastey.
Sad to say but my love affair with barrows ended Saturday.

Polo was our amazing server! Everything was phenomenal to say the least and I absolutely had no room left for dessert but I had to indulge when I heard they had a bread pudding with either vanilla sauce or pecan sauce. We had the pecan!! Thanks guys!

Wheelchair accessibility: There are accessible spots in front of the door along with a ramp.

Ordered takeout a few weeks ago and was disappointed again. I ordered the crab claws and they had a really loud fishy smell, luckily, I checked it before I drove off. I stay less than 2 minutes away but when I got home my food was cold and the shrimp and spinach egg rolls, I ordered also smelled and contained maybe 2 shrimps each. I have been disappointed on several occasions with the takeout but always try to give them another chance. This was indeed my last takeout. I think the food is better if you dine in. I'm guessing that's with any restaurant.

Really nice atmosphere. My guy felt weird with the young waitress placing the napkin on his lapWe ordered raw oysters which weren’t salty @ all. Tasted like fishy taffy. Even after we complained after just eating 2 of them, we weren’t offered another tray or even a discount.

Update: I tried this place out again and ordered online for takeout. It has lost 2 stars from my original. The catfish is not fresh, but the frozen fillets you would find in Walmart. It doesn’t fry like fresh catfish, so I would expect a restaurant to know better. They didn’t give us the side salads that came with the platter. I’m disappointed as I eat this rubbery, seasonless catfish!

Catfish was a little overcooked (very crispy, even the inside meat). Food was good, especially appetizers. Presentation of waiters/waitresses and food was good. They were out of root beer. The service could have been better, such as communication between servers and cooks. Wrong food was brough out. Servers didnt know what was what at times. Overall 3.5 stars from me. Criticique is only for growth:)

This was by far the WORST food I have ever had in Louisiana. The oysters smelled weird, the catfish lacked seasoning, and my side salad was a plate of old lettuce. I am so disgusted and disappointed. I shouldve known the food wasnt the best because when we walked in, no one was even at the host stand we walked around looking to be seated and the restaurant was just about dead during essence fest. The waitress handeled the situation very well but definitely will never return.

I took my girlfriend and daughter there for dinner, it’s a nice sized restaurant and the atmosphere is very nice. I forgot our waitresses name but she was very nice, friendly and attentive. Our food came out in a timely matter and she visited our table frequently to see if we needed anything. My girl and daughter had the catfish platter and I had a shrimp and oyster platter. The food was very good and seasoned well, everything was fried to perfection. I wasn’t crazy about the potato salad, it wasn’t “wet” to my liking but that’s more of a personal preference. I spent about $120 not including the tip on 4 platters including a To go fish platter and a slice of cheese cake which was also very delicious, it came with some type of creamy pecan sauce with pieces of pecans on top. Overall I really enjoyed the entire experience, you get a lot of food for your money and I’ll definitely eat there again.
