On June 21st we signed in at the Comfort Suites in Harvey, the Desk Clerk check to see in the assigned room was ready. However, the room was not cleaned. So she sought other room that may meet our need. She did found us a room, It was big enough because I need a sofa bed for my disable sister. Upon entering the room, it smelled, checked bath room, ceiling was mildewed, spotted from water damage, door nob to bathroom entry was missing, based tile near bath tub missing; Microwave was rusty point where it was difficult for tray to move; walls with chipped paint, carpet was very dirty and had a strong order. She provided air freshener to help with scent. Web view of room is very deceiving. And don't represent actual rooms. I was highly disappointed. I am requested a partial refund of room charge.
We stayed two nights prior to boarding a cruise of the New Orleans Port. Location of this hotel was great, Restaurant right next-door called Copleand's was very good. Lots of shopping nearby, very close to the Bourbon Street area. Upon checking in the receptionist tells me it is her first night and she is the only employee in the hotel at this time. Not a big deal. We are simple. Just need a safe/clean place to sleep. She only has us down for one night and cannot figure out how to access our other night reservation. She wanted me to sign the amount for the two nights but couldn't guarantee that I actually had a room for two nights because she couldn't find the reservation. I had the numbers ready and available. She then just says it's fine I don't need to sign it and we can look at it in the morning. Okay. We go up to the room and need sheets, blanket and pillows for the foldout bed. My husband goes down to the desk and waits almost an hour for her to come back inside. He then gets the sheets and comes upstairs. The sheets that we were given had large burn holes in them. The couch cushions had large dark stains all over them. There was no blowdryer in the room (advertised as having one) breakfast was good. that evening when we returned for the night there were what appeared to be homeless people using the buildings electricity, The guy was suffering from pretty severe mental illness yelling at himself. There were two altercations in the night that required the police to be called. The lobby smelled as if someone was smoking inside of it. It was damp and musty. my card was in the end charged correctly, but it was not a good experience. I recommend no one staying here prior to a cruise in the future. We attempted to find another hotel for the second night but everything was booked since it was a Saturday. It was $180 per night when we stayed which was way overpriced for the disgusting condition of this hotel.
We booked months in advance for a 2 bed room & showed up to a 1 bed room for people; they told us they had no other rooms. I didn’t get a refund. Room was dirty. Manager did not assist. Our friends that had a room next to us said there was a condom wrapper in their floor. Awful experience.
Hi, if I could give 0 stars, I would. On October 21, 2022, I arrived at this hotel a little after midnight from Birmingham, Al ( 5 hour drive). I looked online and saw where it had pretty good reviews. The plan was to come to New Orleans a day early so we wouldn’t have to rush to catch the cruise ship the next morning. Once I arrived, I obtained my room key and my mother in law rented a room as well. When I went to my room( room 106), it smelled like mold, the curtains were severely stained and the front door was already open and would not lock. I went to the front desk to report this and was told by the clerk that she would try to get maintenance to secure my door. The clerk called and called and maintenance never answered. I couldn’t put my items in the room and leave because we didn’t want our property stolen. I went to my mother in laws room ( room 310) and there were roaches that were still alive on her walls, as well as, dirty curtains and a moldy smell. Her sheets were also dirty. At this point, it’s time to speak with a manager. We both went back to the front desk to ask for a manager. The clerk stated all other rooms at the hotel were booked and stated the manager was out of town but she would call him. Once she got the manager on the phone, he told her to tell us he would comp both rooms 50% or we could go somewhere else. At 1am, there was nowhere else to go and we had both just spent $234.00 each on a room here so we decided to wait it out. We went back upstairs to talk to my wife and father in law when suddenly we began to hear a couple yelling at each other and physically fighting in the hallway. It appeared the male involved assaulted the female and she spit in his face. Nevertheless, it was a horrible night. The front desk clerk came upstairs and escorted both of them out of the hotel. The next morning when it was time to check out, there was an entire wedding party in front of us filing a complaint about the conditions of their rooms as well. The front desk clerk tried to call the manager to see how to process the 50% off rooms and he never would answer. We proceeded to leave because we had to board a cruise ship and once we got on the boat, we received a call from the front desk stating she got in touch with the manager and he had no recollection of saying he would comp our rooms 50% and there was nothing that would be done. We were absolutely furious! I ended up having to file a complaint with corporate and they agreed to send me a check for half of my money back (which hasn’t arrived yet). Beware of the deceptive photos online. I would not want anyone to experience what we went though. This is the first hotel in our life where we’ve had to sleep fully dressed because of the filth inside.
When I was checking in, the area around the hotel is not great. They can't control that, I get it. I got to my room, the carpet was wet. Not humid. Wet. There was water dripping from the ceiling in several places. The sheets were moist, and had several cigarette burns in them. The carpet had a lime green something in several places growing from it. The bathtub was rusted out and the water flow was minimal at best. There were chips in the tub as well. The shower curtain was too short so the water from the shower flooded the bath floor. There was no hook to hang a towel, no toilet paper holder, just the cabinet. I had 2 light bulbs burnt out- one in the entry and one in the bathroom. There was supposed to be a partnership with a fitness center but the front desk didn't know what that was. The marijuana smell in the hotel is strong. My billing was not correct, still isn't and I left my number for a manager to call me a week ago. Still no call.
they cancelled my reservation and then told me they were sold out for my stay, even though i can see that they have the room available, they do not want to honor my rate. These people are snakes and I would rather sleep on the highway then give these individuals a single penny.
Please do not stay here not safe since they allow drugs in the hotel. When asked the manger he replied to its just marijuana!!! Hmm last I checked still illegal. Reeked in smell of it dirty rooms mold everywhere, and I am allergic. I travel for work don't want to stay at hotel that allows this and does nothing to change even though found out been going on for a while now. Choice another hotel that is cleaner and was very noisy but at this point I gave up.
I don't think I've ever left a review this negative before. When we checked in, our room wasn't ready. We found that out when housekeeping walked in on us. The entry light inside our room was burned out. The trash outside the building and in the corridors was literally overflowing. We asked that the trash near our door be removed due to the smell. That must have been done sometime during the night, but that was several hours after we made the request. The phone in our room did not work. Our remote did not work. The bathroom door did not shut or open correctly because the floor was uneven. The window had water damage all around it. There were empty bottles under the a/c unit. There was a ROACH crawling on our door the next morning. We brought the light and phone issues to the staff's attention, but they were never addressed. Covid breakfast included a baggie with a too ripe banana, apple and orange. There were other items in the basket, but we didn't stick around after we saw the roach. The facility could be nice, but management would have to care. Housekeeping was very apologetic when they walked in on us. That was the nicest part of our stay.
Very nice and clean hotel new furniture new bedding And staffs is friendly Loved this location. You know by just walking in its newer. The kids enjoyed the brackfast . Great location. Near lots of restaurants. We stopped to rest while traveling from Indiana to New Orleans . We will be adding this to our list of great places to stop.
My stay at this hotel was the worst experience i have ever had in my entire life when it comes to staying at a hotel. I drove into Harvey, La from Atlanta, Ga I arrived rather late and was extremely tired when I arrived. I immediately knew this place was sketchy and definitely NOT clean but i was so exhausted from the drive i had to push through these feelings. My prayer when i went to sleep was, "now i lay me down to sleep, i pray the lord I don't get a disease from these sheets!” I slept in the fetal position and tried not to move because i could smell bath and body works type lotion on the pillows and the bed just felt grimy. The next morning when i woke up i could see how nasty the room actually was, there was hair all in my bed, i was thoroughly disgusted. I went downstairs and immediately complained about how nasty the room was. The lady at the front desk was kind and asked me not to leave a bad review & assigned me to a new room. I went about my day and then came back that evening to take a shower and get ready for a birthday party, which was the whole reason for my trip to begin with. Fast forward, I am at my friend's birthday party drinking and celebrating and I noticed a missed call from a 504 area code and the number is not familiar to me so i said, "let me see who is calling me from a number that is not saved in my phone." Low and behold it is the hotel and it's the lady from the front desk at the hotel. On my way in from Atlanta, GA i had called the hotel and spoke with this particular lady because i knew i would be arriving late and i wanted to insure that i would be able to check into my hotel because i wasn't sure if i would be able to due to Covid 19 and the pandemic. The lady on the phone was expressing her concerns because she said she didn't see that i had ever checked in to the hotel and I am super confused as to what the hell is going on because not only had I already checked in, I had all of these issues with their service. I think this is a total lie, she knew they messed up in some way which is why she was calling me at midnight. Mind you at this point i have been drinking and attempting to celebrate a friend's birthday and now i am on the phone with the hotel being told that my room has now been assigned to another person and that i cannot gain access to the room and that they can't gain access to the room to get my things out of the room. Mind you i am livid at this point because i am drinking, i don't know wtf is going on with this sketchy hotel and basically they can't help me at this point, but they assure me that everything will be handled the next morning. I call the next morning and it took a few calls for me to even get them to answer my call and i know they could see that i was calling because when i originally called letting them know i would be arriving late the lady called me by my name and we laughed at the fact that she knew who i was because of the caller ID. The front desk kept lying to me about when management would arrive at the hotel. I checked into this hotel on 8/14, mind you it is now 9/29 and i have literally yet to hear from management via a phone call, however John Johnese had been communicating via email. At one point he said they would reimburse me but now he is saying they aren't responsible for the items that I left. This guy has to be fricken kidding me. I didn't “leave” anything, they stole my stuff and are now refusing to make this right. This place is a dirty, dangerous, drug infested cesspool.

This hotel worked great for us for leaving out of NO on a cruise. We did the park and cruise and it worked good. They get a taxi for you to the cruise port and back when you return. Easy and not too far from the port(10-15min drive) Hotel was clean and would stay here again. Wish it had a pool
Booked a room at this location 6 months ago when I was preparing a family vacation/cruise. Arrived on scheduled date (1/26/20) around 3pm. Upon check in we noticed rolls of carpet in the lobby so we figured they are replacing some flooring....no biggie. But once we arrived on our floor, we quickly noticed how filthy the floors were (obviously not vacuumed in weeks, trash and dirt everywhere including a lid with a straw from someone's drink laying in front of our room). As soon as we opened our room, we knew it had not been cleaned: floors were filthy, spots all over the bathroom mirror, feces in the toilet, hair in the bathtub, no shower curtain, and no towels. The beds were made but we immediately noticed a blood spot on one comforter and food on the other so we pulled them back to see hair & spots all over the sheets. One bed had the mattress upside down (box spring type covering facing up instead of the cushion part of the mattress). Remote in the living room area was missing, the fold out couch had springs missing and no bedding for it in the room, fridge did not work, dust coming from the AC/Heat unit blower, there were big stains on all of the bed skirts and chair. I went downstairs and the man working the front desk (i believe his name was Kenny) brushed off our complaints by saying he sent up housekeeping which he did but we had to help her flip the mattress and clean so we knew it was being done. We also had to tell her to bring a vacuum up because she was going to leave without doing anything to our floor. I asked Kenny when management would be in & he stated he was the assistant GM but said he saw no reason to comp our room. The original charge was over $150 & definitely NOT worth it. Upon check out a credit had been given to bring the total to $96. I will never return and am making a formal complaint to corporate because we should not have been charged more than $40 for this mess of a room. If it wasn't for the fact that I had driven 9 hours and was exhausted, we would have left! Save yourself the headache and book a different hotel!!!
Nothing fancy, but the rooms were nice and clean. The location is good for those who don’t want to be inside New Orleans, but want to be close. It was more than we needed for a one night stay. Located in a safe area with restaurants and shopping close by.
Poor service, dirty, not a great place to stay. With so many other options, please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Opinion - the types of problems encountered during our stay usually mean poor management of the hotel. Those problems don't improve with fresh paint or new carpet. We arrived late and got checked in reasonably quickly, but the person working the front desk had to be woken up (she was sleeping in a darkened office behind the counter), and then couldn't be bothered to remove her ear buds while helping us. I wouldn't say she was rude, but she wasn't friendly or helpful. We made our way to our room to find the door blocked ajar by the security lock. Weird. Went downstairs and asked about it, and she told us that that was how the cleaning staff left the rooms sometimes. Huh. I can't recall a single time in all my stays at other hotels where that happened. She said the room was empty, go on in. Great. One of the weirdest experiences for me. I stay at Choice properties often and haven't seen this before. No toilet paper. One bath towel, one wash rag. Went downstairs again and told the same person. She asked me if I wanted her to get us some towels and toilet paper...no, I just wanted you to know. Ridiculous. Hotel has some work going on. There was a large pile of carpet in the lobby area that essentially eliminated any sitting area. There is dirt and construction debris in every hallway, not sure if they vacuum anything out there. Our room has all the towel racks removed from the walls (maybe that's why we had no towels...). If you are working on a room, don't put a customer in it over the weekend to make a buck. Since I'm complaining, the shower curtain is too short to stay in the tub. The toilet ran all visit. The bathroom exhaust fan sometimes didn't start (just buzzed). The elevator felt like it was going to get stuck (I used the stairs for the rest of the visit). I booked through the Choice website, and in the past I have had good results. I didn't check this hotel specifically because I assumed one of Choice's upper level properties would be good. My mistake, poor experience with Choice and I won't do that again. I have not had this problem with other brands. Something positive...sorry, I got nothing at this point. Never, never again will I stay here. Never. Wondering if I am just a disgruntled guest (the answer is yes) who is difficult to please (this answer is no)? Read some of my other reviews and I think you will find I am generally positive about things. This hotel is a dump due to poor management, you can do better, you should do better, and don't say you weren't warned by me and many others if you settle for this place.
