Chicken Gumbo and shrimp dinner was good. The food was pricey, but I would recommend this restaurant.

Met a friend for lunch here. I had a bowl of white bean and turkey gumbo and she had a shrimp salad. While the "gumbo" might sound unusual everything about it was delicious-flavor, consistency, portion size. My friend's salad was ample with plenty of shrimp and a variety of complimentary vegetables to make it interesting and flavorful. The ranch dressing was ranch but appeared to be made in house. She loved it. Friendly, accommodating service added to the casual, comfortable atmosphere.

My wife and I stopped while passing late evening through La Place for the Fais-do-do-fries and saw a yummy sounding special. We were disappointed on both counts. Fries were not available and the special “Stuffed Seafood Potato” was far from special. For $15, we received a potato split with some butter “sauce” and four fried shrimp atop, not stuffed… great presentation…The potato was not fresh, lukewarm at best and tasted like it had been cooked, refrigerated, and reheated. Sadly, our server said it may become a menu choice. I hope not in the dish we were served. I’ve paid more for worse meals, but not as disappointing with the good reviews we saw.I would return for the wonderful waiter we had.

We stopped by to have lunch, and had a great experience. Our waitress Debby was great, the food was excellent and the portions were HUGE! Stop by if you get the chance.Dietary restrictions: We had a gluten free member in our party, and the cooks were super flexible with helping them out, and helping get a gluten free option.

I may of came on a bad day. The soft shell crab was in between that and a buster crab. The oil tasted stale and over used.

I visited this restaurant Friday about 5 pmThought I'd give this place a try today since I pass it at least three to four times a week so I ordered the hamburger steak platter. The hamburger steak itself was good and also the mashed potatoes. There was way too much gravy over the steak and mashed potatoes and the onions were raw which I am accustomed to grilled onions but I had a few raw onions thrown on top. The corn was kind of old and cold you could tell it has been sitting out all day and the bread was hard as a rock.

My wife totally enjoyed the food and the service.. the onions rings were amazing, Gumbo tasted like it was suppose to in S.Louisiana and the fried fish was good and crisp.
