Mamaās Kitchen was recommended to us by Dominique at the Whitney Plantation when we asked where we could find authentic southern food. My partner ordered the gumbo and the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and corn. I had the fried chicken and fries. My partner summed it up perfectly as we were heading back to NOLA: āIt didnāt feel like a restaurant. It felt like we were sitting at someoneās table and mom was cooking in the kitchen.ā The service, food, and atmosphere were all truly wonderful!

Very disappointed.
I stopped hoping for good food after work. The presentation was not appealing.
The Okra was mushy, the gumbo was rice with gravy. Only strips of chicken in gumbo.
Corn was supposed to be a side and they put baked beans on the plates.
Too expensive for subpar quality food.
The best thing was the fish.
Very disappointed.

We thought they closed at 9, so we showed up just before 7āonly to find out they actually closed at 7. Despite that, they still took our order and kindly packed it to go. One of the staff members, whose name I didnāt catch, even offered to stay late so we could dine in. Everyone there was incredibly kind and accommodating.

It's missing that mama, part of the kitchen... Not comfortable, Half of the food on the window, not posted in the menu.
I came early in the morning it's a spacious area
I had the gumbo and crawfish balls the gumbo was amazing I'm a big bag so I want it crackers with it but they don't have crackers I didn't get any alcohol add them to items I paid 27.00 that's with the tip included
Great Experience! Food 10/10,
Our waitress was amazing (thx Ray) Drinks extremely good.
I went on a Monday night they were having some type of bike or corvette night. The music was on point R&B. The basketball game was on every time, YEAH!!! HOWEVER, the food was ok. I ordered a smothered turkey wing, cabbage, and yams. Rice and cornbread came with it. The turkey wasn't smothered, just baked, but it was the best thing on my plate. The cabbage was mushy but edible. The yams were more like a casserole, which I didn't like the taste or consistency. The rice was just cooked, no seasoning. The cornbread was my next favorite I ate it all. They did offer some potatoe salad for my yams but that had a strong relish taste. The waitress was very accommodating even attempted to turn down her tip for the food not being to my liking. Would visit again but will try something else.
Ok. Stop here! I've never been to a place like this! The food came out as prepared. Fresh and piping hot. My belly is so fat and happy! We ordered almost everything between the 6 of us. Excellent cooking. Delicious. The crying boy who was too scared to try anything is severely missing out. Hands down will come back if I ever cross paths again! Thank you guys so much.
