I was with a group when we stopped in here for lunch. The owner was there and he gave us a tour of the smoke houses, which was so fun to see! Their andouille and sausage are delicious. Wanting something lighter for lunch, I ordered the Smoked Chicken Salad and it was incredible! Their smoked chicken is so flavourful, highly recommend!

There are also fresh cooked cold options to take home for dinner as well.

This restaurant is a gem! Everything is made in house. I had the most savory and tender brisket. The potato salad is homemade. The little details make a big difference. The cornbread has cracklings baked into it. So much history displayed on the walls and it shows in the food. The owner and chef, Jarred, takes a lot of pride in his place. He also has his own cookbook and his own line of spices, and an assortment of items you can bring home to cook. I highly recommend visiting for a delicious and authentic experience.

Had the Monday lunch special for f red beans with smoked sausage annd cracklin cornbread. Also ordered the deviled egg's and hog's head cheese, and brisket sammy. Delicious, flavorful and perfect. Good music and clean bathrooms were an added bonus for the weary traveler!

Went for the first time on a weekday at lunch. Only one person in line before us and we still waited 10 minutes to order. The cashier poured our drink but wouldn't give it to us. She kept rudely insisting that we sit down and she would bring it to us. Eventually we got our drink, then waited forever for food. The brisket sandwich wasn't anything special. Definitely not worth the wait on a workday. It wasn't even busy. Over $20 per person

The food here is delicious every time we come. Today we had red beans and rice with cracklin cornbread…outstanding. Another suggestion is the brisket sandwich with a side of red beans. Whatever you get, you are sure to enjoy it. Although you have to order at the counter, the service is impeccable, so don’t sweat the small stuff.

I will be honest and say that my favorite thing from here was the salad dressing and the gumbo.. However the smoked meat didn’t really impress me for how expensive it was.. It was almost like it had to much of the smoke flavor, to the point of giving me a bad case of acid reflux for 2 days.. as well as being just a little on the dry side. And all together we spent a little over $50 for 2 people to eat. We ordered the smokehouse plater and the fried fish plater and a cup of gumbo.
