I don't live here. But I was looking for my sister a place to stay. I fell in love with the apartments and amenities
This is ridiculous I come to visit my boyfriend who stays in building f and he can hardly park in front of his apartment due to a car that is parked taking 2 spots for over a month. We've called, emailed made post about it and still is sitting there he had to pay for parking permit or his truck would get towed but why is this right he had to Carry a baby in the rain all the way from visitor lot to his own place because of this..why don't they enforce there own rules if we hold rent they would want to evict us.. so why must we follow rules when they refuse to enforce there own policies
The management of Suma Lake apartments and townhomes are absolutely unprofessional and incompetent. They took my money and gave me and apartment that was not the one I originally viewed. I was told the apartment would be available end of August beginning of September . A few days later we put in an application and it got approved . we went in immediately and put down our deposit. They told me it would be ready September 7th and told what my apartment number was going to be . When they emailed me a paper that needed to be filled out it had a different apartment number on it and I called up there to confirm the apartment number and that it was the correct one. I was told that yes the new number was correct. When I got there to sign my lease after being promised that I could move in today they informed me that it wasn’t ready and I couldn’t move in till Monday . After informing them my two children and I had nowhere to go they let me sign the lease and told me to come back in 3 hours to get the keys but that the apartment was not finished and they would be working on it still which I was fine with. I came back and got the keys and went to move in to see that the floor plan is different then the one I was showed with a whole balcony in what is to be my 4 year old sons room . Which is on the second floor next to a LAKE !!! No one told me of the change and no one showed me the new apartment. They simply changed it and took our money . After very angrily, voicing my concerns about there being a balcony in the room, where there was not one in the one I was shown I was told that all upstairs balconies were this way which was a lie . I’m forced to stay there because they have no availabilities for the apartment I was originally shown . My only options were to go down to a two bedroom or get my money back . Yes I could have gotten a refund but then I would have been homeless. Long story short I just want everyone to know that I give them a 0/10 and it’s my first day. Here’s to 12 months ?
The maintenance sucks and the property manager is useless. I have lived there for 2 years, and my ac leaked onto my kitchen floor multiple times. Maintence came in one time and just painted the spots that it leaked at. They never replaced any of the sheet rock. They sent out letters that they were doing sprinkler testing and they never came to our house. I know this because I work for home and have cameras. Upstairs light fixture and sprinkler fell out the ceiling, the guy thats over maintenance sent his son and him and his friend, they just tied the sprinkler system up to one of the rafters in the attic and never came back. They never fixed the ceiling or the sheetrock around it. My husband had to go buy liquid nail to attach the light fixture back up. The upstairs bathroom has mold growing on the ceiling along with wet spots and if you shut the door their is moisture all over the floors and mirror. Maintenance came in and said it's just surface level and he will just spray the ceiling to "cure the mold" not the huge wet spot in the ceiling. Tested for mold and there is mold in that room and in the bathroom next to it along with mold in the air vents and we test the air quailty and it even came back positive. Several of the electrical sockets would randomly quit working and were very loose, that anything you plugged in would fall out. Reported this several times and even had an electrian tell me they have no clue how this place is wired. One time we had an eletrical outlet go out and it caused my light bulb in a bedroom to blow and the electrian said he had never seen that before. But still never replaced the outlet. Just tested it after we replaced the light bulb. Had to have one of the breakers go out because it would throw everything out and when we flip it the Arc fault will light up, and was told their could be a bad wire somewhere but they didnt know where. One time asked to have my dryer vents cleaned and that request was ignored, it was recommended by a dryer repair man because there was so much lent that it was backing up into my dryer and causing it to overheat.. Had plumbing issues that they could never solve. My husband actually had to take the toliet out to fix because a previous tenant had jammed a pen down the drain. My fridge is from the early 2000s and the plastic is rotted and broken. Asked several times to have them replace the drawers, and they never did. Had to level the fridge ourselves, after reporting it multiple times, and even reported that the seal around the freezer is cracked and coming apart. Still nothing. My dishwasher is rusted along the door. The pod door in the dishwasher wouldn't open during the cycle, called and reported it, and the maintenance solution was cut a hole in the basket . Old dirty water leaks from. Under the handle on the dishwasher. I have gaps all over my kitchen floor, from where the planks don't meet up, and the floor has a hump in. The guy over maintenance told me one time that when the place was built and they did the concrete, his guys were only good Tuesday through Thursday. Monday, they were hung over, and Friday, they were ready for the weekend. So that's why the floor was messed up. We even put a level on the floor to show maintenance and property manager, and they said they would just liquid nail the planks. Last year, we had bats in our attic. I reported it several times and nothing got done UNTIL, I reported them to the Corporate office, Attorney General, and the board of health. All they did was spray lime to run the bats out and then seal the cracks. The bats just move to a new building until they are reported again. My attic still smelt like bats when we went up there MONTHS later. The guys that filled the cracks had left their caulk and mud all over my bbq grill and camera and just left a complete
mess. We made them come back and clean it. They were not happy. They came and re-did the roof on the garage. Because they saw it had a hole. This place is just nasty full of mold and unsanitary.
I have only lived in these apartments for 3 so far and it is the worst experience I have ever had renting. Within the first two months, My ac went out for two weeks and they just played around thought it was funny not in a rush to fix it the 90 degrees weather; also in the process of that they would go in my house every other day just cause; they ransacked it. Then 3 days later the ac brakes again. They had only given me one ac unit to help with the heat and they would take it with not even my ac working yet. Needless to say i also had to go buy my own unit to help while my unit was not working. Then 3 or 4 days later my ac goes out takes them a week to fix it don't give me a unit for inside since I have one, go out of town for 3 day come back ac is working but they take my own AC unit. Hang up in my face when I call about it. Let’s not also forget to mention how nasty the apartments are outside how unkept and nasty the pool, the whole place is nasty . I WOULD NOT RENT FROM HERE.
Even If I was homeless I wouldn’t live there again
I lived here for 2 years and truly can't complain. The price for the space and quality of apartment is a great deal. I've never had any pest/bug issues. The apartment manager and staff are all polite, patient, and very understanding. It's rather peaceful here. You get the occasional bad apple teenager getting into trouble, but otherwise it's a great place to live. The maintenance guy is an absolute doll, just love him. He is so friendly and timely. The appliances are pretty up to date. The walls are fairly thick. I rarely hear my neighbors. Usually it's because their kids are having a birthday party or something loud like that, but rare.I do love the school as well.I only two suggestions, not even complaints.1) Add more table/chairs to pool area2) Add a pay online option for rent
Best damn apartment I ever had, perfect location and great maintenance team
I love it here so peaceful and quiet everyone is so kind. They are so on top of any maintenance issue you have plus great access to the inters
Currently live here. They will sell you a dream. Floors, ac, appliances, etc app horrible. Appliances all outdated floors are in terrible shape. And the maintenance is even worse.

The amount of rent is not worth the very low quality of maintenence, landscape, the trash filled Lake, under attended swimming pool (tenants are expected to pay for pool use separate from rent), the basketball GOAL and old wooden playset (No court nor playground as advertised). There is mold on the patios, buildings, breezeways, etc. The parking lots are not lit at all at night time and despite parking permits, there are never any parking spots. The buildings are not well labeled so expect a headache with any packages or food delivery.
We are scheduled to move into one of the townhouses in May, but I anticipate we will love it!! The whole process up to this point has been excellent. Excellent communication and very kind. They are very patient and even showed us the same aparment twice in one day as we were indecisive over which one to pick. They are very knowledgeable also. Our whole family is excited for move in day!!!
Suma Lake Apartments & Townhouses is good and apartment complex in Livingston, LA if your looking for that nice country feel of a home this would be your best bet!
Very friendly and helpful management! Especially Mrs. Tasha, she has made this whole experience a breeze. She made sure everything was perfect for when I moved in. I definitely recommend living here! The only complaint that I would make would be my noisy upstairs neighbors but that’s just something you have to consider when living in an apartment building.
I have lived at the Apartment Complex for 2 years. The management team does it’s best to keep up with maintenance and everything else needed to run a complex of this size. I personally have taken several complaints to management and they have done their very best to act on these complaints. I have lived in several other complexes in and around the Baton Rouge area. So far this is the best complex I have lived in. This complex is quiet and safe and would recommend anyone looking for a nice quiet place to live would choose Suma Lake Apts.
