Best Mexican in the area, hands down! Guacamole and margaritas are far better than what you'll find across the lake in Hemphill. The Molcajete is large enough for two people; chicken and chorizo were great, but the beef was overcooked. Will definitely return.

Great Mexican food stop! I had the carnitas and found them very tasty as well as their rice and beans. Mrs M. had the puffy tacos that she tanked at 75. The carnitas a strong 85. Service was very good and chips and salsa a 90?. A must stop when in the area!Enjoying Our Dreams

This use to be my go to place at the lake. Until they hired a new group of Mexican waiters, that are terrible at their job. The food seems to be more Monday and tasteless then it use to be.

People are very rude and most of the food items like quesadillas are soggy and non flavorable.

Went there for the first time and it was the worst Mexican food I have ever ate. I think tamales in a can would have been better than that. And the price we paid was absolutely ridiculous. Enchiladas, rice, beans and some salad $18 plus tax. If possible I'd sit outside and warn people all day long. This place has got to be the worst on Toledo Bend. But the chips were awesome

My hubs and I were in town for a few days visiting family who are locals. I grew up outside of Houston and have a palette honed on good Mexican cuisine my whole life, or at least as authentic as you can find when most Tex-Mex establishments have to satisfy American tastes to stay open. Everything that was ordered at our table was just as good an any of the hundreds of places I've eaten in the Houston area, San Antonio, other regions in south Texas, and beyond. Their queso fundido was prepared differently from anything I've had elsewhere, to include sautéed onions and pepper, but I'm now a fan of El Patio's presentation. The only negative was that it was served with no flour tortillas, we had to ask for them separately. Any good queso fundido is served with warm flour tortillas. So do yourself a favor and order the queso fundido and ask for the tortillas to eat it with. All of the other dishes ordered by everyone in our party of five was delicious and fresh, from the beef street tacos, to the pollo San Jose, to their chili verde, all wonderful. I already know this will be a family tradition every time we come back to visit.
