This place!!!! I have a true love and appreciation for great food and this spot is my absolute favorite!! I spent 3 days in Marksville LA on a work trip and had to try so many dishes at this place and each one just kept getting more delicious.
The Krab nachos, the pub tots, the truffle fries, the spinach dip, and the best burger I have ever had in my life (Brown Bag Burger) and the absolute best chicken dish I have EVER had (Potato crusted Chicken with sweet potato mash). The people are so kind and the service is fantastic. I will always be stopping by this place when I am in town again. Absolutely incredible!!!

Why is no one in Alex/Pineville talking about this place?! We are so lacking in restaurant variety, specifically this type of restaurant, and it’s just a short drive away in Marksville. The menu consists of classic American fare, but with creative twists that are well executed. There are so many interesting choices I had a hard time choosing on my first visit, but I’ve been slowly making my way around the menu.
For apps, we’ve been stuck on the Krab Nachos and the Spicy Avocado Tuna Stack and haven’t branched out. However, at this point, I’ve tried quite a few of the entrées and have loved them all.
1. My favorite would be the Shrimp and Grits, but it was taken off the menu and I still haven’t forgiven them for it! However, I see it listed on the current menu on their website, so maybe it’s been brought back??? Fingers crossed!!!
2. Potato Crusted Chicken - The crispy chicken breast with bacon cream sauce could stand alone, but it’s the unique flavors of the sweet potato chipotle mash that really make this dish stand out.
3. Andouille Crusted Redfish - I love everything about this, especially the grits, but the sauces on this are so good and they’re what really elevate BW’s version of this dish.
4. Beef Ribeye - as a person who typically prefers a minimally seasoned steak, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the flavors that the thyme butter adds to the ribeye. And the onion rings are so good.
5. Coffee Rubbed Pork Ribeye - Thick, juicy, and delish. I personally prefer it without the goat cheese and pickled onions. The Brussels sprouts are fantastic.
Servers are always sweet, prompt, and attentive. Prices are typical for this type of restaurant and reasonable considering the quality. I’ve never had a bad meal or a bad experience at Broken Wheel. It’s truly one of the best restaurants in Central Louisiana!

We reserved the outside patio for a large group of about 50. Promises made at booking was not completely fulfilled. Venue was not ready at 3pm for decorations and food was already in the serving warmers for our meal time of 6pm. The external cooler, a/c, stopped cooling about 6pm. We were scheduled to stay till 9pm and the a/c was not refilled with water and ice. Food and drinks were not refilled in a timely manner. I personally asked twice for attention to our needs and it took over an hour for help. Overall not a great experience.

Pub tots are hands down the best appetizer. Tiny brisket pieces with onions and a great sauce.
Favorite entree is Grilled Salmon with capers over pasta. Fun atmosphere and nice servers. Definitely check it out if you are ever in Marksville.

We arrived as walk-in guests and waited about 30 minutes for a table, despite the fact that no other parties were ahead of us. During that time, two tables became available, but they were held back for “reservations.” Out of curiosity, we checked the restaurant’s online reservation system and found no upcoming bookings listed. When we asked the staff about the wait, they explained that the empty tables were being reserved for reservations—even though there were none. This was frustrating and left us feeling overlooked simply because we didn’t book ahead.

I made reservations 3 days ahead of time,- for INSIDE because whom would opt to sit outside in June in the heat. The manager sat us outside moved tables twice, because she messed up our reservations. We had my elderly mother with us whom was extremely uncomfortable. There is limited air flow on patio because of design. The manager was extremely rude. They gave our reservations to a young group of girls whom appeared to be friends with the manger. Food - drinks mediocre- I will NEVER return. Save your $ and go anywhere but here. Clearly reservations say MAIN DINING!!!!!
I had a shrimp po boy to go and it was amazing. The bread was a true po boy bread.
Everything was excellent!! Great service, great food. Awesome! We will be back often.
The highlight of the visit was the attention that Talithia gave to ensure I knew what beers I was tasting. She was very down to earth and welcoming to Broken Wheel Brewing.
Never had a bad meal!! One our favorites!!!
