If I could give negative stars I would. This was absolutely the worst dining experience we've ever had. A group of 9 older adults stopped in for dinner. We got there after a long road trip around 7:30pm. Food didn't start to come out untill after 8:15, my grilled cheese & fries, literally two pieces of bread that had been put in a toaster and two pieces of cheese put between after it was toasted. Cheese was not melted or even stuck to the bread. Our other meals filtered out every 5-10mins(not together). We had an appetizer they completely forgot about. One meal never arrived at all. The sad thing is there was another group as large as ours that had come in after us and appeared to be regulars. They were seen to, tended to and were out of there before half of us got our food. They tried to give us another tables food 3-4 times(not sure which table ordered what). By the last time we were ready to take any meal just to eat something. Its obvious to us they treat passers through alot different than they do locals. Either you guys don't get a lot of non local customers or you just don't care. But the service was appalling and the food disappointing for the price point.
UDATE: After checking some of the reviews, I noticed they had a new owner about a year ago. If that is the reason for the poor service & food they need to sell it to someone who cares. If your local, drive a mile and a half down the road to Broken Wheel Brewrey. We ate lunch there the next day. So much better food and service.(check out my review of them). When we're back in town we WILL NOT BE BACK HERE!

We just left Nanny’s after enjoying a family dinner with relatives. I have to admit, there are no bells & whistles, no big expensive name brand or storefront, just incredibly delicious food along with great service! I had Steak quesadillas that were perfectly delicious!!! Also, we had chicken fried steak with a cream sauce that was to-die-for with grilled & seasoned fresh broccoli florets. BTY, their Margaritas were definitely on point!! Cheers to Nanny’s!! We will be back!

We had a good lunch. We had a chicken taco salad, steak nachos and child's shrimp plate. It was all good. It was clean and the service was friendly.

The food prices are too high, and the shrimp was greasy

The service is friendly and the food is delicious. This is one of the very few restaurants you can get a good home cook breakfast.

I noticed the manager making sure every customer was taken care of. I've been coming here since I was little girl; and I'll be coming here again every time I visit Marksville, Louisiana.

Need to cut back on the sauce on the buffalo chicken. Others wise everything was good I loved the onion rings.

Ordered 2 shrimp po-boys for $40. One was supposed to have no mayo, no tomatoes, the other only no tomatoes.. they gave us a mayo packet... One packet.. not on the sandwich and not enough mayo to cover the sandwich.. also was supposed to come with a pickle spear .. neither order had one .. not worth their overpriced food!!!!

I used to look forward to coming into town for work and making a stop at Nanny’s—it felt like coming home. The restaurant once proudly showcased the heart of Southern Louisiana culture, with a ready-to-serve line full of comforting, soulful dishes that tasted like something your own grandmother might be cooking in the back.

Unfortunately, my visit today was deeply disappointing. I learned Nanny’s is now under new ownership, and sadly, everything has changed—and not for the better. What was once authentic Southern home cooking has been replaced with generic bar food I could find at countless places around Lafayette.

It breaks my heart to say this, but the charm, character, and flavor that made Nanny’s special are gone. I truly hope things turn around, but as it stands, I don’t see the new version of Nanny’s lasting very long.

I ordered shrimp and grits for 20.99, but only had 4 unpeeled shrimp and the grits had no gravy or sauce and were very unsalted. Not worth the price. The other food they serve is very good, but this was disappointing. Try something else.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere was very nice, the waitress here was very prompt & professional and the owner was very informative and truly impressed us by how much he took good care of his customers. We will definitely be back. 😀 👍
