Picked up a snow crab salad. 6.95 appetizer. It was the size and shape of an ice cream scoop. The avocado on top were five of the thinnest slices I have ever seen. And the roe, I have never seen liquified roe. It usually looks like little circles. Very disappointing. Nothing like the Metairie location. Wish I would have taken a picture.

On November 5th, 2023 me and my boyfriend visited this establishment in hopes of having an enjoyable sushi experience. The ambiance in the restaurant was poor and the servers were not attentive to our needs. On top of this, the fish in my spicy tuna roll was not texturally acceptable or fresh tasting. Shortly after consuming this lousy excuse for sushi, me and my boyfriend were greeted with unbearable nausea and food poisoning for an excruciating day and a half.

Chubby asian worker was extremely rude and made fun of what I was ordering saying I was basic and should order what he wants me to order. Why should he have the right to care what I order. His job is to take down my order, give me my drink, and bring me my food. Simple as that.

I used to enjoy Daiwa Sushi and ate there frequently (at least once a week). However, I stopped eating here due to staff confusion. For non-allergen reasons, I avoid "snow carb," a.k.a imitation crab meat. A friend told me that you can substitute crawfish for snow crab. After discovering this, I checked with a waitress at the restaurant to confirm and was assured that it was correct. It wasn't until months later that a new server informed me that the crawfish was not pure and had been mixed with snow crab and crawfish. The waiter then double-checked the information with the chefs to ensure that it was correct. Sakura is a fantastic Westbank sushi restaurant that actually substitutes snow crab for crawfish!
