We stopped by on Black Friday, picked up some poboys and took the grandkids to Moncus Park for a picnic and play! Sandwiches were amazing and I love, love, love those French fries!!!!

A place where you can't really go wrong ordering anything. Nice, local people serving high quality ingredients and preparing everything with care! My go to's are the Meatball Poboy and the Villager and they are just amazing. Awesome beignets too if you want to grab something sweet!

The poboys are always good. It pains me to write this but my butt is a little chapped over the incident.
I looked online at the menu and saw what comes on each sandwich. Ordered, picked up the food and when I got home the sandwich was covered in mayo, mustard and tomato. Threw it in the trash and called to order another one because they obviously gave me the wrong order. The person on the phone said that the villager comes with all that on it. To which I informed them that the website specifically states it comes with: ham, roast beef, pepper cheese and au ju gravy. I understand that some people like all that on their sandwiches but I don't and wasn't expecting it to be there based on the content of the website.
I drove all the way back and bought another sandwich.
All of this could have been avoided if you have your menu listing's correct.

Sweet southern cafe. Staff was nice and recommended some great items off the menu! Chilis cheese fries and pot roast poboy was amazing!

I was driving through the area looking for someplace to grab a bite to eat. I did not want to eat at a national chain. I was looking for a good local spot. I drove past Villagers Cafe and had to turn around. The restaurant is in a small wood frame building that looks like it was a residence at one time. When I walked in I was greeted by one of the staff. She was bringing food to another customer as I walked in. I grabbed a seat and looked over the menu. They had burgers, seafood, and a number of po-boys. The special today was fried catfish. I decided that sounded like a good deal. I ordered fries and a IBC Root beer. I ordered at the counter and the lady said it would be right out. There are only about 6-7 tables in the restaurant. It was down home and very inviting. My food came out pretty quick. The fries caught me by surprise. They were cut flat circles. I love potatoes cooked like that but was not expecting it. If two people are eating one order of fries is plenty. The po-boy was very good. The French bread was fresh! Dressed with mayo. The catfish was hot and well seasoned. I could only eat half my po-boy and half the fries. Saved the rest for dinner. Next time I am in the area will definitely be dining at Villagers Cafe again.
