Got there at 5:55, did get our food til 6:40. Order was basic 3 whole poboys, 2 half's Burgers were not seasoned, and still red in the middle. Best thing was the onion blossom.

This is a family diner type of place that offers your regular “home cooking” meals, delicious burgers & also local favorites, such as corn shrimp chowder, which is my personal favorite. Shrimp poboy, onion rings, shrimp baskets… everything is really good. Service however is spotty. Our orders were missing fries and onion rings. I saw one of the cooks eating while handling people’s meals. On the positive note, staff were polite and laid back, even though not very efficient. There are not too many sit down places in the area that offer local flavors and despite the issues, we think this is the best sit down restaurant in the area.
I’m usually very gracious with my reviews. We picked this place, as we enjoy the 50’s diner atmosphere occasionally. The place was not very clean, nor welcoming. The fried pork chops were gigantic; however they were about 50% pure fat. It seemed the fryer grease was old. The onion rings had about the same over used grease taste as the coating on the chops. The potato salad was unlike any I’ve ever had (like mashed potato texture). I would visit again to give it another chance, maybe it was just a bad day. The poor upkeep of the interior, apathetic service, and disappointing food all suggest it might not be any different next time. Huge potential, but left not impressed.

This diner has potential for a fun 50s vibe. But I think they rest on that potential a little too much. I had fried catfish basket with a side salad. The catfish was well cooked and tasty. But the food here is all fried or out of a coco package.

I didn't know it was possible to make gumbo with no okra or any other vegetables. One would expect bad gumbo in China or New York where they don't know any better, but not in south Louisiana! Runny gravy with just sausage, chicken, and 80% rice.
