Mikado’s is a restaurant my family and I have visited throughout the years. In every single occasion we dined at Mikado’s, we enjoyed it. The atmosphere is nice, quiet, and cozy. It’s a good place to discuss and talk with family.

The food is varied with mainly Japanese cuisine: rolls, shrimp, noddles, Sesame chicken, and a lot more.

The service is also exceptional. Never before has a waiter been mean to us, or unkind or rude. They were polite and kind to us on each occasion we sat in our seats.

I'll admit I was a little worried when I showed up at 9pm on a Friday night and the place was empty. But my worries were immediately quelled as soon as I tasted my seafood soup, angry jalapeño appetizer, and volcano roll. The seafood soup showed up with a lot of cabbage, but as soon as I tasted the broth it was amazing!! All the things in the soup; the cabbage, the carrot, the scallop, the shrimp, and the crab stick, all paired perfectly together! Safe to say I finished the whole bowl and almost wanted to order another one. The angry jalapeño appetizer was just like a fried stuffed jalapeño. It was nice and crunchy and tasted good. The volcano roll was pretty good too. I wasn't expecting 2 large tempura shrimps to come with the roll but it was a nice touch. I only ordered those 3 items but it was so much food i couldn't finish it all. Overall, i was extremely satisfied with how all my food tasted, the portion sizes, and the speed of service. I will definitely be coming here again!

Food was delicious. As always. Best spicy mayo in Cenla. Hands down. Sasser salad and Kaylen salad are an absolute must. Basil Steak is phenomenal. Beef Yakinuku alwats hits. Every time. Especially with that housemate terriyaki! Would recommend to anyone!

The best around!!

I used to love Mikados and I understand the due to current staffing issues service is slow. But my husband and I attempted to dine there today and had been at a table for 20 minutes without any acknowledgement from either server. No greetings, no we will be with you in a minute, no drinks. We finally gave up and left due to constantly fussing from the female server on duty about how she doesn’t have time to clean up a spill because she had a private table. There were only five other occupied tables within the venue and three already had food and were paying. The private table plus two additional came in after us and were already being greeted by the server. The hostess was standing at the podium and made eye contact with me multiple times but had no further acknowledgment of us. It seemed to the staff we were invisible. We have been eating there for several years, but will not be returning. It may not seem like a big deal to the manager, but I would rather go dine somewhere that serves their customers and has staff with training on guest contact and interaction.

The food and service were great. Drove in from Natchitoches, and I'm willing to drive here again. Our server, Will, was very nice, respectful, and attentive.
