This place a joke. Lazy. Call Baton Rouge location
What has happened to this place? Terrible service! We order my kids bday cake every year from this location. We walked in on a Thursday and asked if we can order two cakes to pick up the following Saturday. The lady working appeared aggravated to have us there. She ignored us and then pointed to a sign that said scan barcode or call a phone number to place an order. She did not even speak! My kids love the cake so we ignored the rude service and were trying to order online by scanning the bar code. We had a few questions as the kids were picking out their cakes. Once again, they seemed bothered and clearly weren’t interested in helping us. Maybe these people were having a bad day but they seemed miserable. We will never go back. FYI… if you get the same experience go to Rouses. They actually spoke to us and had great service. The cookie cake is also great! I’d give this place zero stars if it allowed.
I ordered a cookie cake 4 days prior to pick up. When I arrived, the cake was not there and it appeared it was the first time they printed the order. I sat there for 15 minutes waiting for a resolution but both employees didnt say much. I asked for a replacement option and was given none. I had to make sure they were going to give me my refund, because there was no motivation to do so. The manager was not picking up her phone when called repeatedly by an employee. It was terribly unprofessional and unorderly.
I am an avid customer at this location. I have loved the cookie cakes for years. But this year has left me with a sour taste in my mouth and I can’t see myself returning again. I ordered a birthday cake for myself. I asked verbatim for a black cat in a cauldron. That I loved Halloween and to make it spooky.
I wanted the base writing in chocolate and the top trim in white. All of which is noted on the receipt. But what I received was nothing like I asked for. I don’t know in what world this is a cat. To me this is a gremlin in a planter pot. It’s too cutesy for me. I’m not the cutesy person I’m more of a spooky vibes. Which is why I asked for spooky. I was completely upset and called to speak to someone. The “manager” said they didn’t have the same decorator as last year. And she was actually the one you did my cake. When I explained the issues you got rude with me, was not understanding my issue. And then told me I could return it for a refund or get a cake for another day. When I kept saying that wouldn’t work for me. Today was my birthday. I could tell she was annoyed and didn’t wanna deal with me. It was not professional. I’ve worked in customer service and you don’t speak to customers like that.
No matter the customers inflection. I’m 6 months pregnant, hormonal and was looking forward to this cake all day. Only to be completely disappointed.
ZERO stars would be more appropriate. Will NEVER order another cake from this place again!!!! Asked for a birthday cake with a muscle man and what we got was complete garbage. Even the sales associate was embarrassed and completely agreed that it was terrible. Would have rathered the employee call and say they were unable to make it. We would have been fine with just happy birthday. This is a joke. What even is this?!?!?!?!!
Decided to stop in for a sudden sweet tooth craving, so I made a small visit with a friend to Great American. I usually frequent the one in Tanger Outlets and the Mall of Louisiana, so I had solid expectations that the cookies would be up to par. Upon walking inside and viewing the cookies up close, I thought they were fine until I saw the frosted ones and the larger cookie slices. Compared to the other stores, you can tell there was something just off. Icing was hastily used on the cookies and looked unprofessional, the cookies themselves looked underbaked and just not up to standards with the other stores. I decided to go with the sugar cookie, because it’s a cookie that’s remained relatively the same and hasn’t changed much since I was a child. The cookie is supposed to be soft with a crispy exterior, and the cookie I received was nothing of the sort. The cookie was soft and wet, almost as if someone had licked the cookie. The cookie didn’t hold its shape and had a doughy center, I was only able to eat the edges because that was the only thing that felt properly baked. I was thoroughly disappointed as I have been eating Great American Cookies for years, I would not recommend ordering baked goods from this location.
I can't say enough good things about how great our cake turned out from this location! I was having a joint birthday party so I asked for both kids to be on the cake. I gave very vague details about our party being animal themed, and basically gave zero direction on color ideas. I did show a picture of a cake topper I had purchased that I didn't even need to use because the cake turned out so cute! It was way better than I imagined and way exceeded my expectations. Thank y'all so much!
Not my first time visiting this Great American Cookies location, and I walked in excited to grab some cookies and ice cream. I greeted the staff with a smile, but to my surprise, all three employees looked me in the eyes and said absolutely nothing. The cashier in particular just stood at the register, completely silent.
I had to say “hello, how y’all doing?” five times before anyone even acknowledged me—and when they did, the response was a rude and dismissive, “What do you want?”
I’ve never experienced anything like this in a food establishment. The energy felt extremely hostile. I left that store feeling unwelcome and concerned for my safety in regards to eating there.
I will not be returning, and I hope management takes a serious look at how customers are being treated. I rarely ever leave reviews but this was just super weird!
Went through drive through. Several hours later I opened the bag and realized they gave me the wrong cookies and they were stale so there’s that. Cookie quality has gone downhill these days.
Poor customer service, staff do not acknowledge customers

This place has been horrible service for a long time now with a long wait and rude people selling burnt or stale cookies for a long time now, but this time when I went through the drive thru and hit the horn because the speaker never works and there's a sign that says honk for service the girl walked to the window looked at me and walked away. So I waited thinking she would come back. And as I waited for about 20 minutes I watched the same girl walk past the window 4 more times and look at me but keep walking never coming open the window to take my order or even say can you give me a minute to help people here before you. While waiting I also watched people walk in get served and walk out. Finally I got tired of it and left. This place is trash, the workers are horrible and the food is really not worth the money except for the ice cream which is the only thing I ever get anymore, but I won't be back to deal with these rude workers anymore. You have lost my business and hopefully this review helps others to not get treated this way too. Take your money elsewhere unless you like rude customer service, stale cookies, and long wait times

so my daughter gets honor roll every year, and we get coupons to this cookie store every year from the school. for the first time ever we decided to use the coupons, (which don’t have an expiration date btw) and we’re told by the “manager” that we can’t use them and they don’t take them any more because the school has been counterfeiting them. so… sounds like everyone involved needs to have a better system in place, but that’s no excuse to refuse to honor these coupons in front of my kids. what a bunch of legalistic bullshit. 🙄
I come to this location a lot and honestly, I tolerate it because the blue bonnet location is so far. My preference is a cookie cake slice but at this location, they always look dry and thin - so I always look, but I never get one here. The cookies at this location are ALWAYS overcooked as well, and you have to pick around for the one even almost looks appetizing.
So on top of the subpar cookies that are always on display at this location, the service today was absolutely unacceptable. I simply deprived myself of a cookie because my money couldn’t be spent there if the worker was going to be rude.
I can take bad product with good service, but poor service combined with subpar product will never be okay. They need to get it together.
