Love the food and desert would definitely go again.
We are Tuesday regulars at On The Half Shell because of Mindy Brignac (manager/server) and The Eddie Smith Band! We only go if we know Mindy is there because her service is impeccable plus she’s a blast to be around! She goes out of her way to make your dining experience the best! The music on Tuesday night is incredible! Love the Eddie Smith Band!!
Absolutely excellent! Oysters and Fish both were great!

Amazing people and service!! There is a more private side for a quieter scene OR the amazing side with the live music that never disappoints!! So many different options for food too. Everything tasted great!!! Locally owned places are the way to go!

First time at the restaurant. Staff was great, the food was awesome. When you go please ask for Freckles (that's what she likes to be called, but name is Jessica) as your server. She was amazing to our party of 12 this evening. Thank You Freckles!!!

Went for lunch and was not disappointed! 1/2 dozen oysters were fresh, clean and good size. I had shrimp Poboy with cup of seafood Gumbo that was flavorful with just the right amount of spices. Sister had blackened Catfish with a seafood creme sauce and grilled vegetables. Delicious! Portions were perfect, price was reasonable and service was outstanding. Will definitely return!

Food was good. Very quite (Monday at 5:30). I hear it's a great place with entertainment on Friday & Saturday. Was told to get there early in Oyster Bar. Wasn't disappointed. Had oysters and crab cakes. Yum!

Got the Victoria lunch special with a salad and onion rings for an appetizer. Everything was delicious. The server was friendly and kept our drinks filled.

I really enjoyed the mix and match oyster option as well as the great specialty drinks. The key lime pie was tart and sweet appropriately. The wonderful live music by the talented acoustic duo, Perique, rounded out a delightful evening out.

Chargrilled oysters and raw oysters were fantastic, our server was ontop of everything and had refills ready for me when I ran out.

The quality has really taken a nose dive for whatever reason. The raw oysters were ridiculously small. Literally, less than the size of a quarter. Not worth the price. They were chewy and tough. Really gross. We decided to give OtHS one more chance as we had family from Tennessee that had good memories of the place. We were reluctant to go there but did for them. One ordered fried catfish platter. The catfish was jelly like - translucent and pink. It was absolutely repulsive. Sent it back and even though it was a fresh platter, still the catfish was undercooked or whatever was wrong with it. It was disgusting. Nobody ate it. Reported it again and it was STILL PUT ON OUR BILL! We couldn’t believe it. Completely unacceptable. There are too many good seafood restaurants in Baton Rouge to settle for that. Don’t go there. Go to Mike Andersons or Drusilla Seafood. Much better quality seafood.

Just wanted to follow-up...On the Half Shell is one of my regular weeklies..my Business Partner and I come here every week for either their famous daily specials or their spinach and seafood salads.. best in town The remoulade sauce is to die for.
Servers are long-timers who know their clientele and know the restaurant's food. Great atmosphere, great good and a quiet break in busy work weeks.
Try it....it will be worth your while.
