This family-owned restaurant is right down the road from Hidden Oaks Campground and is a great place to eat! Good food, good service, and good prices!... Thanks for your service! If I'm ever in the area I will definitely be coming back.. especially for your fried pickles! Thank you

Read some reviews about how good the food is here, so we had to try it out. The look of the building from the outside is enough to scare off even the most adventurous of those who are hungry. To call it a "hole in the wall" joint is definitely an understatement. No frills, very plain, undecorated place outside of a few mounted fish. The ladies behind the counter were super nice and very helpful. The food ended up being just OK. Everyone that came and went during our visit all appeared to be locals. This certainly isn't a place you're going to find on accident from out of town. The shrimp on my poboy came out of a frozen bag and were prebattered. I can get that at any fast food place, so was very disappointed. My wife's cheeseburger, while very thick and hearty, tasted more like processed soy meat. She compared it to a burger you'd buy at a street fair. A hamburger, shrimp poboy, eggrolls and 1 coke cost me $36. A bit much considering the less than average quality of the food. Passing through a small town where there are very few dining options, I can see how folks would rave over this place. Having eaten at plenty of other good places though, I can tell you the food here was just "OK".

Food is delicious and people are always super cordial. Restaurants itself cld use an update/refresh... But, it's good for what is and what it does (hole in the wall in the middle of a small town that the locals always recommend because the food is good and people are friendly!)... It lives up to every bit of that!

This was the first time we ordered from here. The biggest compliment that I can give is that I thought I'd never find anyone that has a roast beef Po boy close to Bear's Restaurant in Covington. I must admit it was delicious. Only complaint I would have is that it could use just a little more meat and gravy. We also ordered the French fries and ate those before we get home. ?
We will be back to try the fried fish and shrimp.

Hole in the wall restaurants are famous in Louisiana. This little gym was the best lunch I’ve had in years at a restaurant. Great prices. The crawfish etoufee was fantastic and the shrimp Poboy was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Lived in the French Qtr for several years and in New Orleans, my whole life, this place outclassed some of the best rated small venue, restaurants I’ve ever been to.
