Istrouma Eatery and Brewery

My family & I visited Istrouma Brewery recently and had a great experience! The staff of friendly and gave good suggestions for drinks and bites. The atmosphere is top tier with plenty for the kids to do both inside and outside the main building. I would recommend this brewery to out of town guests as it does a fantastic job representing
Baton Rouge Louisiana!

Great atmosphere and great pizza

Great place! Love the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, but the soft jazz music has got to go!!

Good Food. Great Atmosphere! Amazing Beer!! And farm animals! Come on!

Lots of potential but even after the reopening they still seem to struggle with service, availability of the full menu on any given day, and the time it takes to get the food out. All the food remains really good and the pizzas are routinely amazing. Try the Pig Kahuna. However - beware of the prices. They don't put prices on the menu any longer and I found out the hard way that they don't list prices for a reason, which is that they don't want you to know until it's too late. In any event, it's a cool place with a great outdoor space, often with live music, so I'm sure I'll keep coming back and dealing with the glitches.

Super cute place, great beers, good food, awesome atmosphere. And, they had baby lambs. Would absolutely return.

I had read about this place in a magazine dedicated to Louisiana, and I am so glad I finally took the opportunity to visit. The brussel sprouts were amazing! I think they are addicting. The mushroom pizza was very good. The brownie a la mode was the best. The only thing was that there were no prices were listed on the menu. Google maps led me to a dead end road on a narrow road that was difficult to get out of. You walk in, order at a counter and seat yourself. No reusable utensils.

This is a great day outing for a cold beer, tasty food, and even for the kids. We are always looking for fun, family-friendly places, and Istrouma was perfect on a pretty day. We will definitely be back.

Ordered shrimp “tacos” today and a jarritos. $12.47 for One Taco! It came on a green tortilla with 3 shrimp. What a ripoff! First and last time I’ll be visiting this place.

Looks really neat but closed until September for renovations.

We came out to Istrouma a couple weekends ago to get some food and drinks with friends. It was a busy Sunday evening, but we were able to grab a table and get some drinks, and placed our food order.

With the big crowd it took at bit to get our appetizers, which was expected, and we knew that the pizzas we ordered were going to be a long wait based on the advertised wait time the staff gave us before placing our orders. As we got close to closing time we had still not gotten our pizzas so we checked in with the staff, and were informed that our orders must have gone to the wrong table or gotten lost in the mix. This is inconvenient, but an honest mistake as busy as the brewery was.

The staff person helping me apologized for the mix up and removed the charge from our bill and offered us a free round of drink to apologize for the mistake, which was greatly appreciated.

Not long after returning to our table we were approached by I believe "Brad" who we were pretty certain is the manager even though he told us he just feeds the goats and cooks pizzas. He let us know he was extremely sorry for the mix up and that our pizzas would be right out and on the house. He then proceeded to bomb our table with apps, beers and a few deserts. None of this was expected or asked for on our end and showed me the immense pride this business takes in trying to take care of their patrons.

Needless to say a simple mistake which could have been a bummer was turned into such a memorable experience with friends, and a story we have told many times in the last few weeks.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon with some friends and had a great time! The food was delicious – especially enjoyed the pizza and Brussel sprouts. The outdoor seating area is spacious and accommodating, with plenty of yard games to keep the kids entertained. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, perfect for a laid-back afternoon with friends and family.

Has potential but needs improvement. Nice area and atmosphere on a sunny day. Love that live music is there. Loose gravel parking lot. The food was decent. However, if there is anything close to a crowd service, it may be very slow (1 hr+ for a pizza) and long lines to make orders. A beer and a whiskey/Bourbon shown on the website were not available when I went. Overall, the staff seemed swamped on my visit (and there was still sitting available at that time.

Great food and an amazing atmosphere, but be prepared to wait a while for your food to get to you.
