I'll start by saying I am a wimp of a Cajun. I can't handle spicy so I am beginner level on spice. Crawfish was juicy and a good mix of sizes. Comes standard with seasoning on top. I recommend asking for rinsed if you don't like to get dirty. The staff is accustomed to this request so don't feel too shy to ask. They sell their homemade dip and it's a nice size and is delicious. Onion was good perfectly cooked Delicious flavored sausage. One of my favorites. They offer Fountain Coke Products. BYOB - you can bring a small ice chest of your preferred adult beverage. They have crackers if you need a little snack while waiting, just ask. They have 2 dining rooms. The main dining is to the right with about 10 tables and the front is about 6 tables. They have a good setup to wash hands with GREAT soap. Bathrooms do not open direct to the dining room which I think is noteworthy. This particular time I went to the drive thru and it was delicious as always. It is one of the most consistent crawfish spots in Acadiana. Easily one of my top 3 based on overall experience.

Let me start by clearing the air and saying, I am not from louisiana. However I'm married a Cajun woman, and we've been together for over 30 years... including living together in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. So in a lot of ways I think I'm an honorary Louisiana Cajun. That being out of the way, I love me some crawfish. I like to get elbow deep in that spicy sticky hot gradu. I'm all about sucking the heads, getting all that juicy berl up in there, even pulling out the claws for the juice and tidbits of goodness. I feel like I KNOW great crawfish. My world was turned upside down when I moved here to Lafayette... this first time I saw a cooler full of crawfish encrusted in a red barnacle brine of ? seasoned salt ? I almost lost my dentures... and I still have all my teeth. What are y'all thinking?!?!? So... after trying one disappointing crawfish joint after another... we gave up trying to find that delicious spicy berl flavor that soaks into the meat from inside, and fills the heads with suckable soup glistening with garlic and onion and cayenne and citrus. All we could find in the 337 was salty crawfish... soaked in salt... then sprinkled on the outside with more salt. We did what any respecting honorary Cajun would do... we bought our own rig and starting boiling in the backyard! And that's what we've done for the last 2 seasons. And we've had some terrific boils! (*Come on over and I'll show you what I'm talking about) But... We wanted to celebrate... we wanted to go out... didn't want to spend those hours in the heat over a propane inferno. So... after much debate, soul searching, and doing our homework for suggestions... we went to Granddaddy's. And I'm sorry we did. What follows is a pretty scathing review... And believe you me, I'm as disappointed to leave it as you are to read it. I love good crawfish, and I love good crawfish spots. Service: mostly ignored us - probably didn't recognize us - didn't offer menus or to tell us that there was only a menu on the wall - we eventually figured it out. Menu: pretty basic and expected, but that's ok, we just want crawfish - but 10lbs or more options or family sizes only available at drive thru... which means they squeeze you into the "smaller plate" prices Food: oh man... We asked for "spicy" and maybe mentioned that word too many times... Crawfish were big and tender and ready easy to peel... But had ZERO flavor beyond salt... They were blasted with salty seasoning in a thick crust on the outside (which I'm understanding is the regional version of "spicy"). SALT SALT AND MORE you guessed it SALT. So much salt that I had to stop sucking the heads, because there was zero berl and nothing to offer but mouthfuls of salt. Now, to be fair, the salt had "flavor", as it was seasoned salt... but come on man... Corn was tender and sweet... but not boiled in any seasoning... no spice. Potatoes were tender and tasty... but again... no spice. Their sauce though... quite delicious! and really the only thing that helped me make it through my meal. Now again... I'm not from here. But I've had some amazing crawfish. I've been to backyard boils, festivals, dive bars, and a few select restaurants that have knocked my honorary Cajun socks off! Lafayette... what's your deal? What changed after I crossed the Atchafalaya? I thought the heart of Cajun country would be all about that flavor... Guess I sound a little salty huh? Yours truly, Disappointed

It's alright. Could do for a little more purging and clearly some better seasoning. Couldn't really taste the boil. Need to soak em longer. Crawfish were good size

Food is great. Service is horrible. Waitress are very inexperienced and seems confused. Waited 25 minutes for a table and there where several tables opened. Yea

Really good flavor with the crawfish. Unfortunately, when we went for the weekend before Valentine's Day, the prices were very high. We got a 5 pound and a 3 pound order, got drinks, and it came out to about $80. The flavor was worth it, and the size of the crawfish were mostly good, we just can't spend that much that often!
