I really do not like leaving bad reviews, especially for small businesses. My group was treated so poorly that I cannot keep quiet about this. On January 20th, we had reservations for a party of 10ppl @Bijou Eatery for 8:30! Once I arrived, I soon realized that it was several dinner parties going on. Once I found the area for our group, I realized that 4 square high rise tables were put together and pushed to the wall(which only allowed for 6 ppl to be seated at that area). I looked around the corner and noticed that they threw in the VIP area to accommodate the remaining party(which was an inconvenience because they basically had to eat their food in their lap due to the VIP table sitting too low.) Ok, that’s the first issue but we made the best of that.
Second issue
Remember my reservation was for 8:30. It took about 30 mins before anyone even asked if we’ve been waited on. We told them no and our server came over and said “I will be with you after I pass the food out to this other table.” We waited patiently for about another 30mins. Everytime my mom(the birthday lady) would try to get the server attention, he would “put his finger in the air, signaling to give him a second. He did it SEVERAL times. So at this point, it’s like 9:30 and we have yet to put in drink orders or anything. At this point, we had to ask for a server. A server finally comes(not our original server), she takes our order. After about 20 mins, still no drinks or nothing. One of the ppl from my party had to literally stop the BARTENDER and ask for him to make her a drink. She had her drink in less than 5 mins. So I decided to ask the bartender if he received our drink order from the server and he basically had no idea as to what was going on. Once I talked to the bartender, EVERYONE at our table had drinks under 5 mins.
Third issue
The food finally came after ANOTHER 30mins. Our ORIGINAL server came to the table and told a lady in my party that the boudin eggrolls were sold out(after we had ordered over an hour ago.) The ORIGINAL server response was “you’re not our only customer in here!) So less than a minute after that comment was made, the ORIGINAL server comes with the lady’s boudin balls that were supposedly sold out. The ORIGINAL server response was, “oh we found them!!!!!” By this time, the lady no longer wanted to eat the food because she felt so disrespected by the ORIGINAL server. The owner saw that it was some chaos going on and said that he will talk to the ORIGINAL server because his comments were unacceptable. I honestly felt like the owner should have switched our server at that point.
Forth issue
The DJ is giving birthday shoutouts and the servers are giving the birthday ppl their cupcake/cake with sparklers and a shot. My mom(the birthday lady) ask me if our server was going to do the same. By this time, everyone is leaving so I go ask my ORIGINAL server “who do I talk to so my mom(the birthday lady) could get a birthday shout out so we can cut the cake?” His response was “I’m your server and I didn’t know that it was anyone birthday because no one told me!” Let me mention that when I made the reservation AND paid the deposit, I made it very clear that it was for a birthday celebration PLUS I had put party favors, balloons, CAKE and a table cloth on the VIP area table(but you didn’t know it was for a birthday party?) I’m still cool at this point and just want to put in a bday shoutout request. The ORIGINAL server goes to say” why you got an attitude?) so at this point I’m looking behind me, thinking that he’s talking to someone else. So I said excuse me to make sure that I heard him correctly and he repeated it in a very SASSY manner. I decided to walk off and seek help someone else and that’s when he decided that he wanted to get loud and argue with me. This is the same server that told the lady in my party earlier “that they were out of egg rolls and she’s not their only customer.”
So by this time I’m EXTREMELY loud and you can hear me over the music. The owner comes and apologize saying that “he will talk to the server, as

Food was pretty good, steak could a little more salt and pepper, wasn't a fan of the crawfish egg roll, and it's literally the only reason they didn't get 5 stars across the board. Definitely visiting again though!

We walked in, there was no hostess although it says wait to be seated. We sat at the nearest table and waited for acknowledgment. I ended up going to the bar to ask for menus only to be told that the waitress would get them for us. We waited another 15 minutes and didn't receive acknowledgment nor any menus.. We left

Went to Bijou with a friend aroundlunchtime. Service and food were awesome! Music selection was great, as well. Our server was friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks.
