Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Cracker Barrel used to be so good. Biscuits were so hard you couldn’t break them. Cornbread was overcooked and dried out. They were out of chicken and the food we did get was cold. We have been customers for years but won’t go back.

Cracker Barrel Cracker was my go to spot because of its homey country restaurant and store. At one time I could find an affordable filling meal, however on the last 3 visits I was very disappointed. On the last visit, I ordered grits, eggs, fried fish.. The portion of grits was very small with lots of hard lumps, the fried fish was fried super hard, and the two eggs over easy was plated folded over. The presentation and taste was sad. However, the server was good, and I did find some nice discounted gifts in the store. The question now is... Do I just visit CB for the store merchandise? I want my food to look appetizing. Oh yes the atmosphere was pleasant . Also, I glanced at another guest who ordered a seasonal camp fire dish, he looked disappointed and picked over it. The good old days at CB restaurant are they just a memory?

Horrible service was told wait time will be 25 mins it was 35. The server Regina can not multi task she left my child drunk empty for 20 mins didn’t bring me my drink for 30 mins was told she was waiting on glasses. Didn’t check in with table didn’t introduce herself only knew her name because of name tag NEVER AGAIN! I saw other servers several times but never saw her when I needed her.

When we went the restaurant area we were in smelled of pot.

1} Build your own with extra bacon. The bacon wasn't cooked well. Asked for crispy and it was less than normal crispiness. The bottom of the biscuits had a hard crust.
2} Bacon, egg, hashbrown casserole did not have tomato, onion rings or green pepper. No vegetables at all.
This was an exception to normal visits. Cracker Barrel still has the best breakfast bang for the buck!

Omg! Gross food. Bad tea. Bad water. Tastes like dirt. Really bad tasting cold gravy. Too much butter on grits. No spoons? We have grits here. Sausage has bad taste. Rine of the ham. I have to pay for this?

Much of the food was dry. Dumplings and pinto beans, especially. Biscuits great. People nice.

The service is slow, but they're always friendly for the most part. We rarely receive the corn muffins or biscuits even when we ask for them. Our waitress has even asked us each individually which we preferred and then still didn't bring them. You can't be in any type of hurty if you want to eat here. Also, the floors are sticky.

Checked in at 10:26am, seated at 10:55. It took us 2hrs to get food & then we were served half raw bacon, grits that look like they were scraped from the bottom of the pan, French toast had gooey stuff for eggs. Ask for my drink 4 times to no avail. Ask for a manager some lady came explained they were having problems in the kitchen. That had nothing to do with us. Why would you even set a plate of half raw bacon in front of a customer. When the manager came, he had an attitude very unprofessional. I will not be visiting this location again.

We were absolutely disappointed. First the good: The waitress were great. Simply good. Friendly, with a broad smile, we felt in good hands.  Well, then the food. I ordered meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. My wife did the same, only she had fried okra instead of beans. The meatloaf was dry. No, I mean dust dry. If the thing had fallen to the ground, it would have crumbled to dust. My mashed potatoes had probably been from last Tuesday. I had ordered mashed potatoes with brown gravy.
There was no brown gravy on it. Someone in the kitchen had placed a spoon on the potatoes and the mark of the spoon left a brown stain. That's all.
This mashed potato was simply very dry and hard. It was about as if the mashed potatoes had been made two days ago, then left the bowl uncovered and open on a shelf. The green beans were definitely fresh from the can, bypassed some chefs, someone then threw the beans in an oil and water broth and then served them. It was disgusting. The fact that they have the courage to offer something like this to a customer and then charge money for it is an unbelievable impudence.
We gave the waitress a good tip anyway. The woman can't do anything for the management and or for such a kitchen. She just has to carry to the customer what the kitchen produces.
This was the 3rd time we went there and I promise, this was definitely the last time.

This was 7:00 p.m. They were out of what we wanted, the Shepherds Pie. Then we said, the turkey & dressing (they were out of!) Mac n cheese(they were out of. So, I said, what do you have? Then the dumplings were like rubber, chicken hard, meatloaf hard.. it was the nastiest food I’d ever received at a Cracker Barrel. The one in West Monroe is always great! This one is awful! The whole time the guy was taking my order at his podium, the cashier was behind him playing with his hair and ears. He couldn’t even focus from their flirting.

Worst experience ever. Not real busy. Placed order online. Pickup time arrived but no food. I asked three people over 30 plus minutes and was always told it’s being prepared. When I received the order both meals were cold. Gravy cold. Mashed potatoes thick and cold. The whole meal was pitiful. Incidentally several other people standing around waiting for their food too. Again even though it was a Friday evening the whole place was not busy. Will NOT return. Do NOT recommend

They ran out of Dumplings for my order via Door dash. The cashier and manager said they can't cancel orders on their system. I know this was false and they just didn't want to take the hit for a cancelled order. So I called door dash to have them verify the reason for the order cancellation with the store. I'll also be reporting this to corporate.
