My husband and I have eaten El Compadres food for years since 2008. The food is good, but do not ever expect them to get your “pickup “ or “delivery” order correct. Multiple times my queso has been left out of the order, and as of late, there must be a new cook doesnt prepare the orders correctly , and the prices have increased substantially . I am done with placing orders with El Compadre!

The food is good and the menu extensive. The staff is friendly! The new renovations make it more comfy cozy with even some outdoor seating added.

This was my first time trying El Compadre even though I've passed it hundreds of times. We went on a whim when my wife had to pick me up from work.

This is a brand new building so the place is nice. It's not overly colored inside like so many are. We were seated quickly and our drinks were brought right out with chips and salsa.

The chips are a thicker yellow variety but didn't stand out in any way. The salsa is more cumin heavy than any I've had and here but it's still doesn't move the salsa needle to great. It wouldn't be my go to for just chips and salsa.

I wasn't that hungry so I just ordered the beef enchiladas while my wife went for a combo. Everything was decent but nothing I ate made me want to come back. It all just screamed average fare like so many other Mexican joints around.

I may go back and try and try something in the fajita variety but the Mexican staples were very basic.

All I can say is No Mas! Thought we’d give it one more try, but tonight after a long hard day, my wife and I really needed a nice relaxing dinner, and we may have experienced about the worst service in recent memory! Upon arrival we were quickly greeted and seated right away, as there was very few people there. But that was the highlight, as we were never waited on. And I mean not even approached for a drink order. Literally had to flag someone down, and it was still like pulling teeth to get any kind of service the entire evening.

And after watching multiple tables that were seated after us, get their food before we even got service, our food eventually arrived. But after tasting it, I wished it hadn’t arrived at all. Once again for my wife, her food was so disappointing. The first time we ate here, her entree literally had no seasoning at all. She had to add salt to her taco meat just to have any taste to it! And tonight, her fish tacos were barely edible and drowning in the weirdest flavored sauce that she said didn’t match a fish or taco dish in any way. My dish had charred bits of steak like bits that were barely chewable, and a very small portion for a $20 entree with no sides.
Just very disappointing all the way around, and we won’t be going back.

The service was quick and there was minimal waiting time. The food was all good. I really liked the choriqueso. The chips and salsa were okay, I really liked the shrimp wrapped in bacon.

After waiting 6 months for el compadre to open back up after renovations, we were so excited to get dinner tonight. Wow what a let down. The place looks fine but our waitress sat on her phone chewing gum for about 10 mins before we even spoke to her. Another 10 after our drinks before she took our order. (We were drinking sodas so not giving us a minute for margaritas or anything like that). The salsa was practically water. We got our queso quickly but no saucers for appetizers which was fine because the entrees came really fast. I can see now why they did. I ordered chicken nachos. I didn’t know you could screw up nachos until today. The chips were burnt to absolute hell in what tasted like week old oil and the chicken had absolutely utely zero seasoning on it. The guacamole tasted like the avocado was bad. My wife’s chicken was also unseasoned and when I told the waitress and showed her my oily brown chips she just stared at me. It was very disappointing. Every thing that could’ve fallen short, did. Hopefully just growing pains but beware if you’re going to try the new spot, it lacked ALL of the old soul that once drew me in. Won’t be back.
