I always loved this place but lately the food has really gotten mediocre. The lasagna I ordered tasted like it had been frozen for a month! I'm hoping I just hit a bad day because this was one of my favorite "go to" places in Shreveport. Of course, the highlight of the restaurant is the Mint tea and those delicious crispy garlic bread rounds.

Parking: The restaurant sits nestled in a block that was once populated by single family homes. I've been to this location with my family for 30 years now, and the scarce parking that once gave my father fits in a 'bad' area is a thing of days past. The city has done a lot to improve and revitalize including beautiful street lights, new blacktop to cruise down and fresh parking spaces out front.Kid-friendliness: The restaurant has eye candy Galore and retro tunes that kids can Bop to. They've always been ready to pull up a high chair or push tables together for large groups. Very kid friendly including a la carte or specialty orders for picky eatersWheelchair accessibility: It is definitely wheelchair accessible, although I recommend letting the host or Hostess know about any accommodations required. They've got a good group of employees who will do their utmost to ensure you enjoy your night out.

This comment is in reference to the new Benton, LA location. My wife and I have enjoyed Monjunis fine food for years. Mostly at the LA Ave location. However, expecting to enjoy a fine dinner, my wife decided to pick up at the new location. The food was the WORST example of Italian food I have ever tried to eat in my life. For the very first time ever, I cut my meatball to find the inside black as the Ace of Spades. She could have taken 45 dollar bills and let them fly out the window and gotten the same result. If, what we received, is representative of the food that will be served there, then I don't expect to see the open sign illuminated for very long.

The marinara is super sweet, hard to consume a lot of it. The curry chicken salad was disappointing because the amount of grapes and chicken was lack luster. The service from our server was top notch. She was attentive, pleasant and patient with us and even offered a small discount for customer satisfaction. I believe her name was Casey. She was the only one that was smiling and welcoming. The rest of the staff rudely stared at us from behind the counter until busy Casey kindly greeted us. Casey was serving most of the tables but had a great personality and attitude about everything. Wish I could just give her the five star but she’s really who carried the overall experience otherwise I would have given a lesser rating.

I don't know how there any ratings above a zero! The sauce was thick and like syrup, the bread was cold and tasteless. I ordered the curry chicken salad which was a thick, overly sweet mayo with rotini noodles and maybe 4-5 fragments of chicken topped with full half segments of walnuts. There may have been 4-5 tiny grapes in it too. No hint of curry. $16 for a plate of noodles. The waitress did knock off $5 but it wasn't worth $10. The other meals at our table weren't good either as they had that weird tasting sauce. It's also in a shady area that does not feel safe at all. The staff were cold and unwelcoming except for our waitress, Casey. She was the only positive experience in this place. Save your money!

I had the tour with 1/4 muffuletta, spaghetti w/giant meatball, and lasagna. Omg everything was excellent! The sauce is very sweet but that's how my family recipe tastes from Illinois. Definitely a diamond in the rough! You can also buy their sauces and muffuletta mix in jars from the grocery!

The vibe here is really cool and chill. feels like you are in a cafe at a vineyard almost. Service is always up to standard. The Cajun shrimp toast is absolutely delicious. I make sure to get some of it every time. Shrimp aurora is a great meal and very large. Has a lot of shrimp and cheese in it and easily split between two people.

I absolutely love their shrimp pasta salad. I crave it constantly. Unfortunately I don’t live close enough to eat it that often. I wish they would open up again in East Texas.
