Chicken and sausage gumbo was terrible. The rice tasted like it came from a microwave bag--it had a very off- putting aftertaste of preservatives. The entire dish was completely underseasoned, with the muddy taste of bland roux. I was beyond disappointed.

I dont normally like the location on Youree, but I think it was the best food I had from Shane's in a while. I got the Regular Rib Plate, and the Ribs were fall of the bone tender, and the sides were very good, seasoned well.

Food was excellent. Everything tasted fresh. We had the #6 combo. Boiled shrimp and crab legs. We also ordered seafood gumbo and hush puppies. The seafood gumbo had a lot of sausage not much seafood. Not provided any silverware. No crab cracker or pics. Had to ask for the gumbo and hush puppies when they forgot to bring them out. Staff very inattentive.

On Sunday, 5/25/25 at 3pm, We went to a Shane’s at 5914 Youree Drive for the first time. We had heard good things about the restaurant. We walked in and saw employees standing around talking. Not one person greeted us. We waited for someone (ANYONE!!) to take our order. Several employees glanced at us. One looked out a kitchen window at us. One smiled and went back to talking to another employee. But no one came to take our order. We waited for over 5 minutes to be served. We even moved closer to the counter and looked at the employees to let them know we were ready to order. We finally gave up and walked out of the restaurant. BAD EXPERIENCE!! We will never go to another Shane’s. We will never recommend Shane’s to anyone. The employees at this restaurant ruined Shane’s for us. We will never get to experience the food or decide if it is good or bad because we will never go back.
