Thanks guys for totally getting my order wrong. I called in a shrimp platter with two sausage links and when I stopped to eat I had catfish and no sausage. I don't complain much but since I was on my lunch break and wanting to eat lunch in the park close by it just kind of sucked seeing a so messed up order. I drove back by and left my order back on your counter. I hate to give my business to Shane's but I had to today.

I really liked the menu and one of the reviews I read said the fried shrimp were the best. So decided to give them a call. I have to check before I go to a new place to be sure they do not add MSG to their food, as my body cannot tolerate that product.Sadly the person that answered the phone said the owner just told him that he uses it in everything they have. So I dare not buy their food.It is hard to believe though, that they use MSG in EVERYTHING. Even Chinese places that still use that dangerous product will tell you they have several things that they do not add MSG to.I do not know. Maybe the owner was just mouthing off, but whatever I cannot take the chance. People can and have died from this product. I worked in a poison control center and we had cases of people that had terrible reactions when eating food with MSG in it.Whatever, I felt the need to warn people just in case they cannot tolerate MSG, so that they will avoid getting sick or ending up in the hospital or worse. You would think Shavers would have some items free of this preservative/flavor enhancer, but apparently not. And there are so many places that just cook fresh and do not use the product. Be safe. And take care.

Fair prices though I feel the prices on corn and potatoes to be wierdly high. Corn and potatoes aren't that expensive and to buy so I don't understand why they charge luxury prices.

good crawfish, wish they were bigger though. bring cash if you come here, else it's a 3% extra charge. also, if you're a pescatarian, this is a good place. no meat product in their crawdads
