We have requested takeout from this restaurant. The noodles dish was completely burnt. The staff were very rude when asked about it. I would never go back to this restaurant again.

I usually don’t make reviews but my experience that I had when I had a take out order was unacceptable, the server that cashed me out was rude (A white female) but when I asked her if there was Teriyaki sauce in my to go bag, she had an angry look on her face, then she brought me some teriyaki sauce that I asked for and she NEVER once smiled or had a happy facial expression. I am here to say this I love Sushigen this is my favorite spot to come get take out, but if you are going to have severs like her then she doesn’t need to be in this industry!!!!!!! Thank you - unsatisfied customer!!

First off, our server Kyoko was great ! Of course, we expected nothing less !

For those who do not know, they are back in their original location. They were at the Sonic next door for a time whilst they rebuilt. Both locations are like right next to each other, so it's easy enough to find if you've never been to the original location.

Food.... great, as well !! I had the shrimp fried rice. It is one of the best in town !
The Miso soup hits the spot ! Our drinks were refilled in a timely manner ( a small thing, yet the mark of good service).

My fave item is the Pink Lady roll. I think it's a roll ( I did not order this time as I was not very hungry).

The indoor is a wonderful, cozy atmosphere. Very much as I remember the original. Plenty of good seating and lotsa TVs if you want to watch sports. There is a bar you can sit at.

There is an cute outdoor patio.

The place is on Line Ave, right next to Chiante. There is plenty of parking. If not right up in front, there is a parking lot, too.

Wheel chair accessible. Handicap spaces right up front and easy to get in the restaurant.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about Sushi Gen since I arrived in Shreveport, and my friends and I were excited to finally try it after the restaurant reopened.

When we arrived, we were probably one of two groups in the restaurant and service had been exceptional. Our waitress had started off wonderful, but as more parties started to show up, there was a definite switch in her demeanor. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she became more stressed as more people arrived, but I really don’t know. The few times she checked in on us, it seemed like she couldn’t get away fast enough. We asked for a couple of things throughout our time dining and would have asked for them in one go, but she kept disappearing before we could ask. With each passing time, she would get incrementally more rude, as well. At one point, she became passive aggressive and sarcastically said, “Is there anything else I can get you?”

Whatever hopes I had for this place immediately died after that interaction with staff. This encounter has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth, and I don’t know if I’ll be back.

Food is good, but the atmosphere is worse since the refurbs.

7 TVs, mostly news, is a big negative.

Less inclined to eat here since. Bad sports bar vibe

Terrible service. Manager waited my table and was extremely rude and condescending. I left no tip as a result and the manager took it upon herself to add a tip on the receipt herself. Absolutely unacceptable.

Thus was our first visit after the fire restoration.
Sushi was great.
The dumplings were delicious. Best I've had in Shreveport.
Service was just ok, server seemed a little off.
Side note, Shreveport water is terrible. Don't order tea. Ask for bottled water or fountain drink with no ice.

Food was great. The wait was pretty long, not the fault of the wait staff, but Management could have assisted or pulled someone from behind the counter to bring drinks or food.
