Dylan Teekell is a CULINARY GENIUS. He combined pani puri and deviled eggs. HAHA WHAT? Omg The food last night at the Library was SO. GOOD. And the drinks were amazing - Claire the Best Bartender has a serious following and I love her and will follow her wherever she will go NEW FAVE SPOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrible service. Family sat for well over on hour waiting on dinner, only to find out the order was never even put in. Ended up leaving aggravated and hungry at 9 pm.

Cocktails are impeccable, food is scrumptious, and staff are competent, knowledgeable and friendly!

During a recent visit to The Library on Fern in Shreveport, I had the misfortune of experiencing a rather uninspired meal. My midday selection consisted of a bowl of tomato soup, a grilled cheese sandwich, a crème brûlée for dessert, and an iced tea. Regrettably, sandwich and soup arrived lukewarm, devoid of the comforting warmth one would expect from such classic comfort foods.

To my dismay, the flavors were just as unremarkable as the temperature. The tomato soup lacked the vibrant tang of fresh tomatoes, and the grilled cheese sandwich, was not oozing with cheese, both failed to deliver. The crème brûlée served with a soup spoon, usually a highlight of any meal, was a forgettable conclusion. Although it was described as being made with vanilla beans, I neither detected the rich flavor of vanilla in the custard nor saw the telltale specks of vanilla beans. At a total of $35, ($42 with 20 percent gratuity) the price seemed steep for a meal of mediocrity.

Service, too, left much to be desired. The lone waitress on duty was clearly overwhelmed, leading to slow service. It’s clear she was doing her best under the circumstances, but the restaurant was understaffed.

The atmosphere added another layer of disappointment. I had envisioned a cozy, library-like setting, perfect for a quiet escape, but was instead met with a loud, chaotic environment. A large, boisterous party occupied the center of the dining area, their conversations and laughter drowning out any semblance of the restaurant's background music.

In sum, The Library on Fern, failed to impress on several fronts, leaving me to question a return visit.

Brunch spot. I was not expecting what it was. It is very quiet. Nicely decorated. Warm feeling.

Cool place for a couple of people to meet and discuss business.

I went here for brunch two weekends ago. The service was great. We got our food really quick. And one of the best espresso martinis in the area!

My first time eating at The Library on Fern, and I was not disappointed. The food was fantastic. The service was wonderful. Cole is the best! I highly recommend the Grilled Peach Salad, and save room for dessert because the Dark Chocolate Brownie is amazing. Will definitely be eating there again and cannot wait!
