Hooks Seafood & Poboys (Terry parkway)

We had the taste for a good Poboy after church and this place did not disappoint. Great service and great shrimp and fish Poboy.

Have ordered from Hooks in the past and the food was always good ordered a shrimp on bun, and an oyster poboy dressed. The shrimp was fine. The oyster poboy was plain. Not even sure if mayonnaise was on it. Ordered dressed with no pickles. I think the oysters tasted a little off. I ate half of the sandwich just in case they were bad. No stomach problems though. I think their quality control is slipping. And from other reviews I’ve read; their attitudes are bad.

I found this restaurant via door-dashing. Noted the menu and prices and vowed to return. I am so very pleased that I have. I write this review after my second meal with them. I had the philly cheesesteak po'boy with the request of being dressed with lettuce and tomato as well. Zero issue, as if a common free addition. $12 flat. I only wish there were a way to electronically tip. The sandwich was excellent. The bread was soft and perfect, and I could taste that they take pride in the food they produce. Being open so late and syill producing excellent food after 10pm, I absolutely understand why this is a top rated westbank eatery. I whole-heartedly recommend this restaurant. Go forth, be merry my foodies. Hook's will hook you up with something delicious far more worthy than the price they ask.

Food was very dry.Didn't get to order right, had to drive back 15 minutes.They forgot the wings and the trout was very overcooked

Picture shows wedge fries with sauce as delivered regular dry unsalted fries . Fried gizzards dry and over cooked unchewable ( had to throw away). There was no ketchup, sauce, not even for the jalapeño poppers. No napkins nothing. 😥

Missing half of items on DoorDash WTH!!!

We ordered a seafood combo with shrimp & trout through DoorDash pickup and received TROUT WITH THE SKIN STILL ON IT!!! Never in my 34 years have I had fried trout with skin still on it. When I called to ask them about it the guy I spoke with said we didn’t order with them and then HUNG UP IN MY FACE! Absolutely will NEVER order from them again nor will we recommend anyone else to.

This places totally rocks. Ordered here twice, and they were always super kind to the ladies I have with me. They're quiet laid back and very approachable. And the food is RIDICULOUS!! 10/10, gotta be the best seafood / poboy sammich in the area. Seafood was still great, after re-heating it the next day. No nasty "greasy belly" feeling, either. This place leads the standard of local seafood sandwiches.

It pains me to say my experience with hooks today was completely unexpected. I thought I was gonna get the same service and quality I get at the locations they have in New Orleans, however when I got my food I was surprised to see it was undercooked and they had no condiments outside of the one homemade sauce (hooks sauce). I declined the offer to try the sauce because I don’t like pre made sauce like that. I didn’t understand why he was being so rude because I asked for ketchup and tartar sauce. He rudely said he was going to post my reaction on his social media so I recorded my own and I hope he actually post the full video so yall can see how rude he was to my whole group. Even insisted that we were gonna eat it how he served it and even stated he doesn’t eat it anyway so it doesn’t matter if they have the right sides to go with the food. Sir under cooked seafood can get you sick 🤢. If I wasn’t wrong why did you provide the refund. Long story short this was not New Orleans cuisine at all.

Hooks shrimp poboy was on point,soft bread, lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, the sauce that came with it was perfect and ten times better than Raising Cane’s sauce.
