I was blown away my first night here, everything I tried was incredible, easily a 5-star experience. I came back the next night because I loved it so much, but unfortunately had the opposite experience. I waited over two hours only to find that the dishes I returned for were sold out, which was very frustrating. Safe to say I won’t be returning. First visit: five stars. Second visit: one star.

If you’re visiting from out of town, you have to eat here. I had the gulf fish meunière with a side of charred cabbage, and an old fashioned cocktail. I highly recommend the fish, it was perfectly seasoned with a slight crispness on the outside but not dry on the inside. The cabbage could use more seasoning but was still very good. The old fashioned was also delicious. The portion size is on the small size so I would order an appetizer as well next time. Service and atmosphere was also top-notch and I look forward to coming back.

Update: I’ve been here many times since my first review. The gulf fish is still a favorite and the Brussels sprouts are my go to. The scallop pasta is usually pretty good, but sometimes the scallops are quite fishy. They have specials on Wednesdays and Thursdays. It’s usually posted on their Instagram, but not always, and select happy hour cocktails everyday from 4:30 to 6. Even if you’ve been here many times for happy hour, make sure you tell your waiter you want the happy hour version of the cocktail, because I was charged regular prices and told I was supposed to tell the waiter I wanted the happy hour version of the drink. Their old fashioned is still my favorite cocktail, but the Robichaux and baby turtle are also very good. I agree with a different reviewer who said their dishes tend to be very salty, but I have found that to be a problem at most restaurants in Louisiana. John and Joseph are my favorite waiters, they’re always friendly and attentive. Hevin did not offer to tell me about any of their specials, I only found out about them because I overheard a different waiter telling another table about it.

Cinclare is an absolute downtown treasure! The food is consistently outstanding, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff makes you feel right at home. And the drinks? Hands down the best in town. A must-visit spot for anyone who loves great flavors and even better company.

The food looked amazing but didnt get a chance to try it. the acoustics in the building are horrible. All cement floors make it so loud in there I had to leave after 10 minutes. I got the worst headache it sounded like everyone was shouting. Had to leave after 10 minutes due to the noice

I want to give this place more stars, but all the expensive food we ordered was really salty. The steak was so salty we needed to have them whip up a special creamy sauce to tone it down. The staff there are wonderful though and took care of us when we mentioned it. And our waiter was so knowledgeable about the menu I was very impressed. We really enjoyed the fried oysters mushrooms and the beef tallow French fries. The cocktails are definitely a must try. Each one we tried was made perfectly and they were very unique. If it wasn't so pricey we would eat here more.

Love the atmosphere, our waitress was great. The drink were good and loved the selection, but The carrot soufflé is AMAZING!!! If you order anything from them you have to try that!

Go for a great drink and a great meal. To start: Jeffry (bartender) makes some of the best drinks! His Moscow mule is the best I’ve tasted and the smoke and spice is an awesome, well balanced drink that you could get hooked on…. Appetizer: The brussels with halloumi drizzled with balsamic raspberry is an experience not to miss. The 6 oz filet mignon with greens beans were perfectly done. Then add the truffle fries for a truly sublime meal.

My husband and I went to Cinclare for the second time this past weekend. Our first visit was great a couple of years ago, we figured it would be the perfect place for our tenth anniversary. Unfortunately we had Emily as our waitress who made the overall experience quite uncomfortable. Service was slow and every interaction with her felt painfully awkward. The crawfish cheesecake was very obviously burnt, but it took so long to get to us we weren’t going to send it back and wait for another. The sides to our entrees were either cold or kind of bland. The one redeeming factor was that the filet mignon was absolutely perfect. We chocked it up to just being an off night, decided to skip dessert and the other drinks we were planning on ordering, but left pretty disappointed. Much to our surprise when we checked our bank app a few days later, we had a $148 charge pending in addition to what we spent. The waitress never mentioned to us that she accidentally charged us for someone else’s bill. This is a place you could easily rack up a $500+ tab, I think a little more consideration should be used. My husband called the manager who offered us drinks and an appetizer, which is nice in theory, but we have busy lives and a young family. We can’t squeeze that in anytime soon. All that to say, if Emily is your server, request someone else.

Ate at the bar for a weekend dinner. Service and atmosphere were nice, I liked the space. Good cocktail list and a large selection of bourbons. Of the two starters the French onion soup was decent, the crab fat Caesar salad was...not. Somehow even with the cheese and dressing it felt like we were just eating plain lettuce. The entree, oyster and squash agnolotti sounded really good but the execution was off. Pasta was dry, the filling was overly salty, and the style of the fried oysters seemed out of place, more appropriate for a beer and fries. The sesame see creme brulee was decent.
