Stopped by Johnnie Mae's on a whim as we were passing through from a trip to Baton Rouge. It was a nice surprise. The food was wonderful. I had the Carter Street Chicken. Tasty grilled chicken in a garlic sauce. Yum! Service was a little slow, but not bad. And the server didn't come by very much to check on us, but then again, they didn't totally neglect us. Atmosphere was pleasant.

Joan was our server. She was excellent at her job even though she had only been there a week. She gave us great tips on sites to see in the area and asked us to please visit again before we left town. The food was excellent. We will be going back before we go home to Ky.

I was a little disappointed with their cartfish but was very happy with the shrimp. The fried green tomatoes were not cooked as well done as I prefer, but the crab suce was deicious.

Wonderful casual dining seafood steaks and comfort food Love the rib eye The seafood was really good as well as raw oysters The pineapple upside down cupcake for dessert was so good Love the onion rings they are a must This was our second time to visit love it Wish they would downsize the size of salad and include with meal $4 is a little much for salad plus steak price Great wait staff

In Natchez on a Sunday and dining choices were extremely limited. We found the restaurant on line and decided to go. The place was empty which left us concerned. Service was very friendly but the food was not what we hoped for. My wife ordered fried shrimp, the shrimp was soggy and greasy. I had the gumbo which was below expectations for Louisiana. Would not go back if lived there.

Visted this restaurant on my anniversary in 2019. The food and customer service I received from our server Gigi was so wonderful that I wanted to visit the restaurant again. My husband and I are here again in 2020 and our server is Gigi once again. Great food and nice atmosphere, I love coming here.

We ate lunch here yesterday with family. We used to eat here when it was called The Sandbar. I had the Catfish Piquante which tasted great, but within an hour, I was sick and desperately looking for a restroom. The others had the Crispy Catfish and onion rings and fries. The crispy catfish was soggy, barely cooked. The fries were not cooked and onion rings were also soggy. Staff was very friendly. We will not be back. Sure miss The Sandbar.

My wife and I were traveling from Georgia back home to Louisiana and were looking for some good southern fried catfish. The menu said "Crispy Catfish Filets." I ordered the four piece. The filets were really small and very "soggy", not crispy at all. They had a strong taste to them, fat I assume. I tried to pinch off that part but they were so soggy they just came apart. All total I wasnt able to eat the equivalent to one whole piece. A waiter waited on us and no complaints with him. A waitress or maybe manager asked how the food was. I told her I was not pleased and she asked why. I told her the same thing as I've written above. She saw that I ate VERY LITTLE of the fish and apologized but offered no concession. I also suggest changing the carpet at the steps going into the restaurant. I'm not upset, just a bad experience and hopefully this will help the Restaurant make some changes to keep happy customers.

Just a block or so from the Clarion, we ate dinner at Johnnie Mae's and found the food, the servers so so good,. Tammy was our server and she was top-notch. I think she found us amusing - too oldsters holding hands and a kiss now and then but we thought her thoughts were sweet. We had the following: The special - an ettoufee with a half shrimp poor boy and fries, and I had a grilled shrimp with ham and egg salad over fresh greens and blue cheese. Both were delishous, and the service was wonderful. Ambiance was nice as well although there was exuberbant small kids in the next room who were a bit noisy but we were fine. A really great experience, great food and service, thanks to Tammy and others and we will definitely be back next trip.

It rained on us all day, so we cut our touring a little short and opted for an early dinner. Right across the Mississippi River brdge from Natcjez MS to Vidalia LA and we stopped at JOHNNIE MAE'S for dinner. I had probably the best burger ever -- "Johnnie Mae Special Burger" and if ya don't get it -- bad on you!! Our server NICOLE was top-notch and even tried to get a full tray of dessert on us -- but dinner was toooo much for our appetites. Overall wonderful!!

Interesting restaurant. Southern atmosphere. Older establishment but very clean, super friendly staff, large selection for lunch and dinner with smaller selection for breakfast. We were very pleased with the obviously home-made food. Very fair prices. Easy access. I’d definitely recommend stopping
