Sombreros Mexican Restaurant

This was my first experience in this restaurant. I love all things Mexican and know what I like to eat. I ordered enchiladas and small queso. Well the chicken enchiladas had no taste. I mean it was just meat and tortillas. I eat at a lot of places. This was by far a miss. I don’t think I would come here again. I gave it two stars because the service was great. Food not so good. I should have listened to the other customers who said it wasn’t that good.

New location in Lafayette was amazing. The manager Tommy came around 2 different times to ask how the food was. You don’t see that much anymore. Waitress was wonderful as well. Highly recommend!

First time here. The young lady at the front was so friendly. We were placing an order to go. She was helpful in explaining the menu and food options. Portion sizes, ingredients, etc. We placed our order and enjoyed a nice conversation as our food was prepared. We ordered the taco salad with carne asada, enchiladas and kids quesadilla with steak. Everything was great. I wish we had this restaurant in Florida where we live. Prices were reasonable and descent portions. I'd definitely go back.

We stopped for dinner small place barely any parking, and the prices were high relative to the quality and quantity of the food. The waitress was very nice and helpful, but the bill came to $71 for two meals and a drink—enchiladas and fish tacos. Drinks are $4 dollars and the chips and salsa tasted outdated, with canned salsa lacking flavor.

We're here for the first time, and we had good service I'm pretty good food. The hamburger was actually very big and good. I think the chips could be a little bit fresher though.

We've dined at sombreros for years but recently used them for catering. It was such a great experience, good was great and Tommy was super easy to work with. Absolutely recommend.

Please do not go by anything above a 1 star. The food is bland, mushy, and tastes awful. The inside is run down and the bathrooms were nasty. My family is traveling and this is hands down the nastiest food I have ever eaten out anywhere. The cheese dip tastes like it came from a can and not an ounce of seasoning on any food.

Traveling from San Antonio,Texas, (from the authentic Tex/Mex..lol,) we, stopped in Walker to take a break. Gotta say we were absolutely, incredibly pleased with the Mexican food here. They were very, very busy but service was superb. The staff were all friendly and happy! Even Tommy the owner, stops to say hello and chat.
Been lots of places that are called Mexican food, but I gotta tell ya, y’all gotta come here, this place truly is good Tex/Mexican food.
I would consider it loud, but easy to talk. Only because everyone was enjoying their Family and friendsand enjoying their food.
Had to park a little ways down because the restaurant was so busy. The other stores were either closed or no customers inside!
