I just read the reviews for Cake tonight and they are so very on point! A friend and I ventured into Cake about two weeks ago. I had passed by so many times, but that day I made myself pull over for a brief visit. So very glad I did!
Sitting on the edge of beautiful Antique Alley in West Monroe, the bakery's atmosphere is amazing! The scent of sugar and spice and everything nice greets you as you enter the door. Quite honestly, I don't know which is more inviting, the aroma of whatever is baking in the oven at the time or the pleasant smiles and greetings of the individuals behind the glass countertops.
For my treat I selected a slice of white wedding cake with buttercreme frosting. Delicious! Both the cake and the frosting! The buttercream was just right. Sweet enough to match the flavor of the cake, but not so sweet that your mouth puckers and you wince when you taste it. As I said ...perfect balance!
You can ejoy your treat while sitting comfortably in their most adorable seating and thumbing through the latest Bayou Life magazine or West Monroe Visitor's Guide. Or, you can sit on the bench outside as you nibble away while enjoying the wind off of the Ouachita and the colorful sights and sounds of Trenton Street.

The sisters that run this bakery are as sweet as their cookies! Spent time talking to us and even offered the kids a taste from the icing bowl. We had the orange cake- yum! lemon blueberry cookie- too salty scotties- an oatmeal cream pie that was heavenly! in-flight- biscoff cookie that was on the sweet side but delicious daymaker- chocolate chip- classic cookie! m&m- classic m&m sandwich- yum and the not so brownie- that was a little too sweet. All in All- Completely worth the stop! WAY better than Crumbl and locally owned by such lovely people!

This is my favorite place to go for a very good sweet treat. My wife and I also had our wedding cake made here, and they delivered it to the venue. Not only did it look amazing, but it tasted amazing. Everyone at the reception was trying to keep a piece to take home. If you want something made, you will need to get on their schedule as far in advance as you can. But you can walk in and purchase any of the other treats they have any day they are open.
