Called into Mal’s this morning with my sister-in-law, my niece and her friend for breakfast before I left Abington to head back to Ireland — and what a gem of a place it is.
From the moment we walked in, the staff were so warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious — proper home-cooked goodness, beautifully prepared and full of flavour. It’s the kind of breakfast that makes you feel right at home.
Even though it was busy, Malissa took the time to come over to our table to welcome us and thank us for calling in. She even remembered my sister-in-law from a previous visit, which was such a lovely personal touch.
A fabulous little restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere — I would highly recommend a visit to Mal’s if you’re in the area.

Visited Mal's for the first time this past Saturday after driving by so very many times! I am a breakfast fan so was very pleased with the Steak Bomb Omelet and the homemade Hash!! Took home enough for breakfast on Sunday. I was not only impressed with the QUALITY of your food...but the service and the atmosphere. I knew that when I stopped by and saw the wait that it would be good. Actually you moved your guests in and we did not even wait 15 minutes. Appreciated the cleanliness and the atmosphere....the decor that was not only funny but encouraging. Know that you invest in the best equipment like freezers and ice makers. Well Done!!

Hi Mal! I just wanted to tell you about my wonderful experience this morning. Around 7am this morning I looked at my two sons 7 & 8 years old and said hey do you want to have a breakfast date with me at Mal’s? Mind you I have never had the pleasure of eating inside the restaurant but they both have. Of course they said yes and I think we were seated by 7:30. We ordered two kids meal with one egg, side or corn beef hash and I got the steak Benedict. While we waited for an our food a veteran who had been seated at the counter came over and asked me if he could give the boys a sticker. Of course! Nice guy! Such a nice way to start our Sunday morning. Our food came and it was delicious! The boys keep saying mom I can’t stop eating it’s so good! 110%! I took my credit card out at the end to pay my bill. The waitress came over and said your check is all set. Someone paid your check! No idea who it was but I immediately wanted to do something for someone! I had some extra cash in my wallet and handed it to the waitress. I said my goodness my day has been made, I need to do something too! I am so proud to be part of this amazing town! Keep up the great work!

Waited about 20 minutes to sit, but it was so worth it. My omelette was huge, and delicious, and the home fries were cooked perfectly. Service was great, and the tables weren't too close to each other. The owner came over and talked to us to ask if we liked our experience. Super nice lady. I told her I loved everything, including the positive affirmations all over the walls. Thanks, Mal!

Tiny hidden gem. Super nice, helpful people and yummy GF food. We had a tiny bit of a wait but got a chance to look at the menu. I got the Hawaiian special and my daughter ordered delicious GF pancakes. The server explained that although they can prepare GF food they guarantee celiac safe but she did not have a reaction. We really enjoyed our meal and highly recommend trying this café.
The food was very tasty and the staff super friendly and polite.
