All the fish we’ve purchased at Svenfiah has been of the highest quality. Not cheap but that is to be expected. Recommend the smelts! Fresh! Delicious, quick and easy to pan fry.

I guess if you have family, this market works for you. But as a person on my own, it has bothered me that they won't sell in increments under a pound. And my most recent purchase, a haddock fillet, was full of pin bones. Clearly the fish had not been properly filleted. The email I sent has gone unanswered. I will not be purchasing from Svenfish again.

We have had fairly good success with the Captain’s Choice small subscription. The fish is very fresh and is better than what you can get in most grocery stores.However, I have had a negative experience with their customer service. We ordered and paid for a fresh, whole side of salmon for Easter. When it came time for pickup, I was told they did not have what I had ordered and the only comparable thing that would satisfy our needs was a large piece of frozen salmon which, when properly cooked, was mushy and not very appetizing.I subsequently wrote them an email saying I would have appreciated a little more communication around the availability of the salmon I had ordered for this special occasion. I never heard back. I wrote a review on their site telling people that perhaps they should inquire about the availability of this product when they order it. They did not publish it.For a business that touts their “crazy, fresh fish! Always fresh, never frozen” and that claims satisfaction is their top priority, it was disappointing to just be ignored.
