Great spot for portuguese food. My favorite is the espresso martinis with bailey's and steak sandwich with marinated hot peppers and fried egg with home made french fries.

Ordered takeout and asked for butter and was given four and two were already used and empty which is gross. They obviously reuse the butter that is in the bread basket. I also orders roasted potatoes and was given boiled potatoes.!Food is always excellent here but that turned me off!!!

What a find! Unplanned stop. The broiled scallops were awesome. Huge portions but not a huge bill. Cheap beer. Hole in the wall kind of place, but it was worth the stop!

Have what It takes?
I have been here many times before, never would I ever consider this place my favorite portuguese spot however, the food for the most part has always been solid. Today i gave it another go with a party of seven. Let me tell you that the food is not what it once was, the employees are nice but the service was beyond slow...i dont think I will be back here anytime soon... Unfortunately Captain's Place doesn't have what it takes to be one of my favorites!! I am portuguese and this is not where i would introduce the food to anyone thats trying for the first time, nevermind the ones that have experience!!!!

No idea what happened to this place. They used to have an awesome Carne Alentejana... What I got there today was not good, but not terrible. Very mediocre. Other meals in my party included the rabbit, which was just "ok". The sword fish and Tuna were both terrible. Bland, like out of a frozen dinner. The worst part about this place is the horrible service... The place was empty when we arrived so there is no excuse. Waited a half hour to order and get drinks. They forgot my water and I wouldn't be getting one until an hour in, when our food finally arrived... yes, an hour... we ate the mediocre food... then we finished eating and they came and cleaned our table.....and we then continued to wait another 40 minutes just trying to pay and leave. Mandatory 20% tip, which is fine, except the service was BAD! Probably why they didn't care about serving us very well.

We were a part of 5 and 4 of us felt our food was very bland with no flavor whatsoever. Most likely I will not return here.
Best Portuguese around hands down! The steak Mozambique is always my go-to and the Canja reminds me of my Avos. Great service as always!

Great food, terrible service. First contact with Waitress happened after 15 minutes of sitting at the table. Later, I observed our waitress was chatting up the front of the house while we waited at our table with empty drinks, to order our food. I actually had to get up to flag her down. No check ins after food was served. Had to flag another waitress down for the tab. This was Thursday 3/14 at around 3:30pm, the place was dead, so no excuse for this. Will not return .
