This is one of those hole in the wall places that is very good. The avacado ball was great, must try item. Today the sashimi wasn't the best, normally better. Except for the sea scallop, it was very good. The Uni were so small but tasty. The hand rolls came out late or something, the seaweed became chewy. The softshell crab batter was very sweet for some reason. Tasted weird. The seared sea scallop roll was very good. Had a smoky flavor to it. Caterpillar was only ok.Overall still one of the better sushi spot. Would recommend to anyone. This place is small so maybe wait on busy days.

Fresh and high quality ingredients, inventive rolls that differ slightly from other restaurants in the area. Has more traditional Japanese food as well that you will find missing at other establishments.

Amazing... the best hidden jewel in Allston! It's so easy to miss because it's tiny. The chef's love for his food came through for us, not just in the pride he took while serving each dish (yes, we order half the menu) but mainly the attention to detail and the unique interpretation to modern sushi. We will be regulars, no doubt!

We ordered take out and arrived before the pickup time, the food was cold and tasted like the fried parts of it were fried in old oil. The wonton soup was cold as well. The salad looked like the greens had sit outside the fridge for a while in the day and then just put together at the last minute. I honestly thought for a second that maybe they just gave me an order that someone left behind.

Stop scrolling, you must try sushi at Fish Market! We had the absolute best sushi dinner here. Chef puts so much care, love and attention into every piece he makes. Sushi rice was cooked to perfection, you can taste each rice grain and it was seasoned beautifully. Fish was of high quality and generously portioned, truly the star of the show. Chef sourced fresh ingredients. The ginger was pickled in-house. We were thoroughly pleased and satisfied with our meal, service and hospitality shown by our hosts. I've lived in the Boston area for 20+ years and Fish Market has climbed the ranks of top sushi restaurants around!

My friend and I came by for a weekday lunch to take advantage of their lunch specials - they seemed so cheap (especially nowadays). We stopped by around 12:30 on a Monday to an empty restaurant, and while we were there, we were the only customers. The lunch specials were actually so inexpensive, so we decided to order 3 to share between the two of us. First was the sushi lunch. The California rolls were a bit mediocre - the imitation crab meat was quite tasteless. The fish was fine - not the freshest, I think, but nothing too problematic. The imitation crab nigiri was not very good, which might be a recurring theme. The ebi (shrimp) was also average.Next was the sushi sashimi lunch, which was largely just the previous characters arranged in slightly different roles. A bit disappointing, overall, and even my favourite salmon sashimi fell a bit flat. Last was the sushi and maki deluxe - we picked the yellowtail maki. The nigiri was of similar quality to the other combos. Yellowtail maki was pretty good, although inconsistently so (there was one piece that was nearly unchewable). Tempura was actually really quite good - crispy and yummy :)Overall, the price was indeed quite low, and we had so much food, but was it worth it? For this quality, I would say no. While nothing was expressly bad, I think that there are much better options in the area (for just a little higher price) that I would rather go to instead.

Price are as expected. The fish are very fresh and the service was amazing. Very small place, but that doesn't take away from the experience. I would come again. Parking is tough depending on when you come as it is street parking

Fish Market Sushi Bar is a great neighborhood sushi bar. It's fairly price and it comes with a lot of different options such as noodles, cooked food, and sushi. They finally put on specials again and it's amazing.

Our favorite go to sushi spot in Allston. Whenever we want to eat out and can't think of a place, fish market will always come up as a choice for us. The restaurant sits not many people but the wait is usually not had as they do a very good amount of take out business now. They just recently renovated the restaurant and it looks even more modern and higher end now. The quality of the fish is always fresh and their cut is generous. The chefs are very friendly and we always chat when we go there. Staff is amazing there as well. Love their selection of fish there and this place honestly is one of the best hidden gem in the area.

As an Asian, I have high standards for sushi and sashimi so it was difficult to find satisfactory sushi. I have been visiting this restaurant once every 2 weeks after discovering this restaurant. I've tried several dishes such as sushi, maki, roll and noodle. But Chirashi is the best of the best. A variety of fish toppings go up, fresh and plentiful as well. Today, I ordered Chirashi, rainbow maki and miso with uber. The taste is always delicious. I highly recommend 'Chirashi' at this restaurant. !_!

probably my favorite casual sushi place in Boston so far. Menu is affordable and fish is super fresh. There are so many options on the menu, but I usually opt for the sashimi. The super white tuna sashimi and the tempura fatty tuna are must haves.

Avoid!!! I regret that I didn’t check the google review. Bad Fish. Not fresh at all. The salmon is black and sashimi taste really loose. Very pricey for low quality food. The eel rice I ordered eel is too sweet and only 3 little pieces. They even put carrot inside. Not professional at all. Over all, they charge 18% tip automatically. For bad environment and bad food. It’s doesn’t worth $80 at all.

Amazing price, quality and truly a business to support. So so good! I got the sushi maki lunch and I am amazed by how good and fresh it is. You have to come here!
