감자탕(脊骨土豆汤) Hanmaru's the most popular dish. Pork backbone soup, come with potatoes, tofu, napa, watercress, beansprout and wild sesame seeds. You can add extras from choice. A size come with 5 chunks of meats & 3 rice. B size come with 4 chunks of meats & 2 rice. Meat and soup are fully cooked. but, the vegetables are packaged separately, so you can put them together in a pot and cook them slightly.

We came here around 3pm on a Saturday. We got the large gamjatang, which is $47 before tax and tip and can feed 3 people (3 bowls of rice, 6+ meaty pork neck bones and lots of toppings in the gamjatang, and banchan). The soup flavor became more intense (a slightly spicy soybean paste flavor) as it cooked down, and paired nicely with the rice. The pork was tender. I liked the banchan.

Overall it's simple ingredients and flavors -- nothing mind-blowing, but...

Visited here for lunch with a friend. The last time I visited was 13 years ago. A lot has changed in my life but this restaurant hasn’t. A TON of restaurants have come and gone on Harvard Ave. and most have fizzled out. The fact that Hanmaru is still here is a testament to the quality of the food and the service you’ll get here. Come with a friend and get the Gamjatang, that’s all you need!

We tried their new menu and drinks. Ordered diy rice balls and makguksoo+kimball combo with a side of scallion salad (extra charge). Highly recommend this combo!
They also have new drinks and we liked the green apple-ade!
