I’ve lived in Thailand for 3 years (Huai-Kwang) and I can confidentially say this restaurant resembles the closest tastes to the food I’ve eaten during my time there.

I have tried at least 15 different Thai places in Boston and I will say - this is the best.

The flavors are as close to Thailand as you can get, which I never thought could be replicated here. It took me back for a minute lol.

I will still have to try some dishes, like som tam, to see if it has that taste I’m used to… or if it’s lacking dried shrimp.

This location is also significantly better and more authentic than the other Laughing Monk locations.

This place is hands down the best spot for authentic Thai food in Boston. Their specialty is Northeastern Thai which is not the typical dishes you’ll find everywhere else.
Everything tastes amazing ,especially, Leng Zap and Crispy Pork Belly Larb. The staffs are attentive and friendly. Highly recommend! 🫶

No way they have 14$ prices outside, I come to sit down, and I see $19-20 pricing on the menu. Im not just mad, im appalled at this kind of behavior from an establishment. Dont care if the food is good, I not going to be decieved into spending this amount of money.

No sense of hospitality or service. Don’t seem to know how to treat customers. Average, greasy food that is way overpriced. Plenty of other places in the area with better hospitality to whom you can give money.

My partner and I stumbled upon this place when our original plan didn’t work out, and we were so happy we did. It’s a tiny little spot with some of the most authentic Thai food I’ve ever had in the US. The Moo Ping stole the show. The staff were incredibly friendly. Definitely worth a stop here!

Im in the area on a business trip and I was really craving some Thai food. I decided to try Laughing Monk as all my friends highly recommended it to me. As I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the sweetest lady ever. Although I like Thai food, I’m only used to the basics so I asked her to recommend me some dishes and she was more than happy to guide me. The food was absolutely amazing and the environment was lively and cheerful. I was surprised the prices ranged from $20-30 per person. Laughing Monk Cafe is such a small and busy place on the weekend but staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely go here if you’re looking for great food, great environment, and great prices!

I went back there again, and still had a wonderful experience. It’s a small restaurant that makes you feel at home. Reasonable prices, a well worth while wait for delicious food. Highly recommend for active food lovers!

I had a very upsetting experience at this establishment today. I came to pick up a DoorDash order, but was ignored and treated with clear disrespect by one of the staff members. It felt like I was being treated differently and unfairly just because I’m doing delivery work. That kind of discrimination is deeply hurtful for those of us who work hard and take pride in what we do. Everyone deserves to be treated with basic respect. I hope this review helps raise some awareness.

Food was super good and authentic. We ordered the crab rangoon, ping moo, chive and pad thai. All of it was 5/5. The wontons looked and tasted home made and they actually had a real crab taste. The pad thai was SAUCY and the ping moo was tender and juicy. Highly recommend stopping by here.
