I was disappointed by my experience and felt like there’s not much of a reason to come here over Malatown down the street. The variety of vegetables and meat was similar to Malatown but the price came out much higher for a similar weight (and especially because there was a required minimum tip). There was also only one broth option (compared to malatown’s 5-6) and no sauces. Overall, while this place is ok in a vacuum, I can’t think of a good reason to recommend it over the superior option down the street in Malatown.

Was debating with a friend whether we should get hotpot or try this place. We always passed by it, and never gave it a shot until today.
The food was VERY FILLING! I filled up my bowl with a tonnnn of meat and toppings, and it only came out to $26 with student discounts applied. It's just as if we'd gotten out to eat hotpot, if not, CHEAPER! The service was amazing, the owner was extremely polite and comforting, the waiters were also very hardworking.
The food was great, the atmosphere is cozy, and the location is conveniently next to the nearest buses. Give this place a try, you won't regret it!

I absolutely loved my experience at TangHua Kungfu Malatang! The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the broth was rich and flavorful, and the spice level was perfectly customizable. It’s the best malatang I’ve had outside of China. Super clean, fast service, and a fun atmosphere — I’ll definitely be coming back!
