One of the best sushi spots in town. True hole in the wall in Allston/brighton. The owner is the sweetest man, the sushi is always FRESH and delicious. And the miso soup!?? Perfect. I always come here when I need some sushi. Great price for the incredible quality. Would recommend over and over again.

Amazing gem in Allston! That saying don’t judge a book based on its cover applies to Oppa. May not look like anything special from the outside but on the inside is a nice cute family owned business. When you dine in you get complementary miso soup. The sushi’s is fresh and the sashimi is stellar.

I usually read reviews before trying a new place and was surprised this place had a 4.5. After having takeout from here for the first time I was left so disappointed. Whoever made my rolls today surely has no business making sushi. The Idaho roll was drenched in soy sauce ?? And spicy tuna roll also had a ton of spicy mayo on top. The quality of the fish was so stringy and below average. Just wasted my money on food I couldn’t bring myself to finish.

Great place! I get sushi at least twice a week. Really nice Chef/owners!
A true hole-in-the-wall and hidden gem, Oppa Sushi has excellent sushi and a kind staff. This place is no-frills so if you’re uptight about the atmosphere, look elsewhere. If you’re cool and like good food, stop in! I’ve loved Oppa for years and don’t plan on stopping.
Oppa Sushi in the Boston neighborhood of Allston is a cozy little below-street-level place for excellent Japanese cuisine, and, fresh sushi and sashimi. Descending the stairway entrance I immediately felt welcomed walking into the tiny space. The staff and owner were very friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout my visit. Before even taking your drink order they bring you a complimentary bowl of miso soup. For the main, I went with the amply large bowl of Spicy Pork Bulgogi; a lot of flavors coming at you here with just the right spice for my taste. And because I am a sucker for anything mango, I also had the Frenchkiss Maki roll - m’wah! But while the food and service are excellent, and the room is nicely decorated, there is also quite a bit of clutter here and the bathroom could use some care. I wouldn’t let that hold me back though and it was certainly well worth the visit. Very much recommended.

Absolutely love Oppa Sushi! The sushi here is consistently fresh, with the perfect rice-to-fish ratio that makes every bite delicious. You can really tell they care about quality. The customer service is also top-notch—friendly, fast, and thoughtful. Every order comes with miso soup, which is a nice touch, and on my most recent takeout order, they even threw in a soda on the house! :) It’s small gestures like that that make this place stand out. Oppa Sushi is hands down one of my favorite spots in Allston!

A literally hidden gem on the busy Harvard Street. Nestled in the basement level of a red building, this seemingly suspicious looking place is actually packed with a friendly environment, good food, and good service. I came in with low expectations and was very much surprised.
From my photos, I ordered the patriot roll, black dragon roll, tornado maki, and fried softshell crab. It all tasted delicious. VERY delicious. The sauces that came with the special sushi rolls are supreme and they were packed with ingredients. Pricing was as expected and for some strange reason their canned Coca-Cola tasted really good too.
Only caveat is that this restaurant only accepts cash but they have an ATM.

Always the absolute best! Been coming here for about a decade both for nights out and for special occasions (the party boats are BOMB). Love the chef who makes truly phenomenal sushi and is just so personable/delightful. It's worth becoming a regular here for sure!

Sushi is great, prices are better, and the owners are the sweetest hosts! Just picked up an order today and felt like the prodigal son returning home the way the owners greeted me with smiles and joy. Me and my girlfriend’s new spot for good, cheap sushi.

The best sushi spot we have found near us. The fish is fresh especially the tuna which is my favorite but can be very hit or miss at other places. The appetizers are also great and the miso soup is delicious with plenty of flavor, tofu, and seaweed!
Also, the people are kind and welcoming at the restaurant. There is good reason that Oppa has a great rating!
