A literally hidden gem on the busy Harvard Street. Nestled in the basement level of a red building, this seemingly suspicious looking place is actually packed with a friendly environment, good food, and good service. I came in with low expectations and was very much surprised.

From my photos, I ordered the patriot roll, black dragon roll, tornado maki, and fried softshell crab. It all tasted delicious. VERY delicious. The sauces that came with the special sushi rolls are supreme and they were packed with ingredients. Pricing was as expected and for some strange reason their canned Coca-Cola tasted really good too.

Only caveat is that this restaurant only accepts cash but they have an ATM.

Best place for sushi in Alston, maybe all of Boston. Owners are super kind, chef is very talented, and all around good, welcoming vibes

Always the absolute best! Been coming here for about a decade both for nights out and for special occasions (the party boats are BOMB). Love the chef who makes truly phenomenal sushi and is just so personable/delightful. It's worth becoming a regular here for sure!

Sushi is great, prices are better, and the owners are the sweetest hosts! Just picked up an order today and felt like the prodigal son returning home the way the owners greeted me with smiles and joy. Me and my girlfriend’s new spot for good, cheap sushi.

The best sushi spot we have found near us. The fish is fresh especially the tuna which is my favorite but can be very hit or miss at other places. The appetizers are also great and the miso soup is delicious with plenty of flavor, tofu, and seaweed!

Also, the people are kind and welcoming at the restaurant. There is good reason that Oppa has a great rating!

I don't often leave reviews, but the sashimi is soft and delicious, the price is good, and the portions are plentiful!! The owner is so kind and the service is great ~ I'm so glad there is a raw fish restaurant like this in Boston... I highly recommend it!!

It is hard to find a good sushi place around Boston, but this spot is definitely the sushi spot for my husband and I. The rolls were amazing and the quality of the food was great!

I've tried almost every other sushi place around allston but I keep going back to oppa. Fresh fish and a great fish-to-rice ratio at a fair price. And the people who work there are all wonderful!

Pictured are black dragon maki and allston maki (not exactly sure what's on it and the menu doesn't say, but it's tasty as heck).

A very home feeling atmosphere, like you're visiting someone's house for dinner. The food was perfect, some of the best sushi I've ever had and cheaper than a lot of places I've been to. Great vibes, every staff member was kind and even gave me an extra bowl of miso soup at no charge. 100% recommend to anybody🙏🙏🙏
