“Really good food. The garlicky green beans were done so well. The duck was succulent and well seasoned.
Staff were attentive, but too quick to take plates away. They really seemed like they were pushing us out so they could wipe down the table and make space for next customers, and it wasn’t even that busy.“

“Absolutely loved our experience at Grandma's Kitchen! This cozy little spot packs a punch of authentic Taiwanese flavors. The popcorn chicken and salt and pepper pork are our favorites — full of crispy, savory goodness. The staff are lovely and super friendly, making us feel right at home. We'll definitely be returning soon to enjoy more delicious dishes. Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine Taiwanese comfort food!“

“The food is absolutely amazing!!! The place is always packed so you know it's good! Not sure the service was the greatest but the food truly makes up for it! It was also very very busy so I imagine the staff were just slammed. So overall great place!“

“Family dinner during Labor Day weekend. Place was packed with lots of Asian customers. We ordered from one of the dinner set menus plus a few other dishes. Food was exceptionally authentic and tasty. They reminded me of the typical Taiwanese wedding banquet food. Service was quick and efficient. Ambience was lively, noisy and joyful. My entire family of 11 adults enjoyed the meal very much.“

“Wide variety of very good food BUT, unless you speak Chinese, ordering by phone or even online is AGONY. They should hire a fluent high school kid.“

“We've only had the weekend Taiwanese brunch here. Food is pretty authentic with a good variety. Some of our favorites here are the soy milk, beef and scallions Xiao bin, and the steamed pork ribs with sweet potato. These are consistently good and well prepared, especially the Xiao bin which has a nice crispy crust. The soy milk actually have a lot of soy flavor and not too sweet. The beef noodle soup is fine but is mostly salty and has no depth of flavor. The filling in the chives pie is decent but the wrapping is greasy and doughy.
Service is efficient though not very friendly. Prices are not cheap for the type of food. We come to this restaurant purely for the food. It's a bit dim inside and furnishings old but relatively clean. Overall, it's great to have this restaurant to get a taste of Taiwan that we miss.“

“Formosa Taipei is a take out only spot for Taiwanese cuisine. The menu has a lot of options. The scallion pancakes were crispy and yummy. The sauteed string beans were cooked perfectly and the chicken with garlic sauce was delicious.
The service was friendly and efficient, and our food came out quickly. The space is very small with no seating area. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Free parking is available.“

“I got a bite to eat (noodles with mixed vegetables) at an affordable place nearby to where I was working. The food was delicious, the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was delightful. I will definitely eat here again if I am in the area. Loved it.“

“The Dumpling Cafe is a simple, typical Chinatown Restaurtant. I had the garlic chicken with rice and found it very tasty. Service was friendly (enough) and ordinary. The dish was large enough to share. I couldn't finish it. I planned to go back, but there were too many other places to try out nearby. The restaurant wasn't full, but it had about 5 or 6 tables occupied l believe at around 8pm. I gave it five stars for being true to form Chinatown type restaurant (simple and a little grungy - but clean) and the food tasted great.“
