I love a stop in Amesbury! We were there for a Saturday car show right downtown. Hoppy’s is a great little bar to watch the scene. We love tacos, burritos etc. i got TX BBQ burrito that was highly flavorful. Also, well constructed-I could pick it up! My date had steak burrito that he liked. We don’t seek out smoked foods and were happy with our choices. Not the boldest salsa game. Great bar and Friendly service.
Got a pork verde taco with a side of rice and beans, rice and beans were undercooked, taco was very greasy and almost half cheese, will not be coming back.

They have more items for smokey BBQ than for Mexican food it seemed. We just ordered an appetizer. My mom and I had said we were going to check the menu before deciding if we were going to stay. I went to the bathroom and she already had a drink in front of her when I got back. There are no physical menus just a qr code you scan. We got the 4 cheese queso. It was smokey. And it was almost like velveeta and shredded cheese melted together. I prefer a jar of queso from the super market over the one we ordered. It was a small portion for the price. We decided to leave and go some where else. I know it's a bar and will have a bar menu. But I was expecting more Mexican than BBQ based on the name.

Came here in a whim after the beach, sure glad I did! Amazing food, especially the tacos. Lived in Austin for a bit and these were the closet Texas tacos I’ve had since. Owner was awesome and extremely personable. 5/5 and would recommend! Check them out!

As much as I’d love to gate keep this place I can’t hide this secret from anyone because I want to share it, it’s THAT good!!! The decor, the energy, the staff, the food, everything. Highly highly recommend the sausage poppers 🤤 and the campfire margarita!! Certainly will be back to see Sean and Mitchell!

this was my boyfriend and i’s first time in here and it was absolutely amazing. i have never felt more comfortable and welcome coming to a restaurant. the owner sean came out and introduced himself showing off his sausage poppers. the bartender was so polite and helpful kept the yummy drinks coming and is funny as hell. we got chips and queso, tacos, rice and a quesadilla it was DELICIOUS. we got the brownie to go YUM. definitely will be returning! we also followed the insta. i would 10000% recommend this place aswell and everything we ordered! i cant wait to come back!

Hidden gem in amesbury this place is unbelievable and does not get the attention it deserves the food is absolutely incredible and I’ve always been a very picky eater. As far as the price goes it’s unmatched you could feed a family of 4 for under 75$ the staff at the establishment goes above and beyond to tend to any and all patrons in the establishment. I could go on and on about this place but I wanna get back to my food. Huge thanks to Sean for providing such an amazing restaurant and atmosphere here on the north shore

I considered leaving two stars. The bill was $98 (before tip) for three of us (one of which is a 9 y/o). My experience tonight did not align with the cost. Sean introduced himself as the owner and was very nice, but it took an incredibly long time for our order to be taken despite it not being busy. I had high expectations when Sean mentioned being big on flavor, but all three of us found our food to be really bland and lacking. The portions were incredibly small for the cost across the board. My daughter said using the bathroom ruined her entire experience. My partner was still hungry after eating. I couldn’t stop staring at the dust on the lights hanging above our table. I would not return, but I hope Sean can address some of these concerns and be successful in his Cantina endeavor as my dissatisfaction seems to match the other 2-3 star reviews.
Vegetarian options: Tofu tacos or burrito with non-dairy cheese/crema options.
