Been here more than once and it doesn’t disappoint.

The menu is a great blend of classic go to chinese and Japanese food with a deeper bench of “legit” chinese cuisine that you can’t find often outside for Chinatown.

*I’ve had limited amount of their sushi / Japanese menu so far… and all top notch but this review is mostly for the Chinese part of their menu.

*Janice was our server a few times and she’s exceptional.

*The special battered fried shrimp dish she recommended I had not seen outside of chinese restaurants overseas. Fantastic.

Atmosphere is clean and better than most suburb restaurants. So the 3 stars for atmosphere respect that, as it’s not a luxury chinese restaurant.

It’s quickly turning into our go to. Highly recommend but also make sure to go deeper in the menu, less “general Tso”, as you can get that anywhere. Hanto is legit.

It had been years since we had gone to Hanto due to all the health board issues long ago and concurrently the food quality had gone down hill. With all the recent good reviews we decided to try once again and were kind of excited about it. We will say that the crab rangoon was very good and the hot n' sour soup was also good BUT the sushi we had was NOT what we ordered and paid for. The Spicy SCALLOP Maki was full of imitation crab (not even listed as part of the ingredients) also known as Kanikama which is processed pollock fish- ZERO SCALLOPS!!! We also ordered the Salmon and Yellowtail Tartare, again could not find one piece of yellowtail, a few tiny pieces of salmon but 90% of it was AGAIN the IMITATION Crab! Moral of the story with our experience SKIP the sushi all together. Cannot comment much on the Chinese meals, real sushi lovers take a pass!

Highly authentic Sichuan cuisine! The owner brought a chef from Sichuan China to cook here. The back of the menu is where to go - mapo tofu, Poached beef, dishes from the most Sichuan of Sichuan cities, Zigong. This place is the definition of a hidden gem. Recommended!

If you don’t order off the specials & combo menus the food is exquisite in fact, best I’ve had in years I’m here on Christmas Day ( COVID Grinch stole Christmas) so it’s not really crowded (got here about 4:20 pm- only two other tables occupied. The wait service were slow & disorganized.and food delivery
(which is not wait staff’s fault unless they. failed to put the order in) is incredibly slow! Three different waitresses serve me, each made mistakes. One brought the check, another came back to say I hadn’t signed it when it hadn’t even been rung up, after 15 minutes another waitress came to get it. While I was putting on my coat, she had the audacity to hand me the check and say “You forgot to put something on for me” . I told I had not & left “. My advice: Order takeout off the special/combo list & you’ll get absolutely scrumptious food.

The whole experience was beyond our expectations. We had 8 adults and 5 kids with our table ready. The food came out so quickly and everything tasted amazing. Some highlights: scallion pancakes, spare ribs, general Tso’s chicken and the Dragon sushi rolls. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and accommodating. We live in RI but I’ll go out of my way for it. Thanks for the great experience on my wife’s birthday! 🙌🏻

There are plenty of Chinese restaurants in almost every city, but only a few manage to serve truly memorable, flavorful dishes. Quite by accident, my wife and I stumbled upon Hanto Restaurant, located in Ashland, Massachusetts.
To be honest, when we first walked in, I had my doubts. The place didn’t look like much at first glance, and I wasn’t expecting to be writing a glowing review afterward. But appearances can be, and in this case, was deceiving, the food turned out to be exceptional, and the service was equally impressive.
Janice, the lady who helped us choose our dishes, was warm, kind, attentive, and wonderfully helpful. She made excellent recommendations, every single plate, that she suggested, turned out to be a hit.
We ordered; vegetarian spring rolls ($6.30), fried calamari ($16.80), Tibetan-style sizzling beef ($27.25) and a plate of seafood - Dry pot shrimp ($30.45). Everything came out perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The fried calamari, in particular, was unlike anything we’d had before: enormous pieces, tender inside, crispy outside, and beautifully seasoned. The sizzling beef arrived in a hot iron pot, just as the name suggested - the dish was sizzling and every bite was rich and aromatic, perfectly balanced with the vegetables. And to top it all off, the Sapporo beer was served at exactly the right temperature, metal can was very cold to the touch, but drink was quite refreshing … just what we needed.
A wonderful find, and a place well worth recommending. It’s up to you, guys, but we definitely be coming back.

And we are back … and, as expected, I was NOT disappointed. Everything was just well cooked and tasted delicious.
