Very Average food but insanely expensive!First of all, It is a takeout place and their menu Is pricey Considering that. I ended up paying $21 for one chicken fried rice, which is absurd! They charge at least 20% more than what is listed on their own menu. God knows why. Stay away from this place as totally worth it.

I called the Spice Kitchen and ordered two sets of Idly. When I went for pickup, they gave Sambar idly. Then I explained to them that I could not take it because it was not what I asked. The billing person was courteous in getting the plain idly with Sambar and Chutney on the side. He took the Idly from the freezer, warmed it up, and gave it. It's like a stone, and I can find the difference. The Chutney was a few days old, too. Lastly, they said they would give three in a set and cost $8.99 but gave only two idly's and charged $10.99 for one set Idly for the old frozen food. They do have a grocery shop in the same place. Whichever items are going bad or expired will be used in the spice kitchen.Note: If you are buying food for older adults and kids, please do not buy it as it's not a healthy place.Vegetarian options: Please do not go if you are a pure vegetarian and have any food allergies.

The food is good, no doubt, but the prices have gone up steeply and there has been a reduction in what comes with the order. I usually get dal for two. It used to come with rice and became a complete meal. But for $30 and no rice, I’ll do the unthinkable and learn to cook it at home.

i came up from connecticut for what i heard was good Indian food, this wasn't just good Indian food but excellent food. I had the chicken Tika Masala and it tasted like a home cooked meal! I've eaten in lots of Indian restaurants from Washington, DC to CT and this is the best I've had so far. I can't wait to come back for more delicious food from Spice Kitchen!

This restaurant is fantastic! The chefs cook with pride and it shows in the taste and quality of their food. We have gotten takeout a number of times and had them cater my son's birthday, both of which were very satisfying. Definitely one of the hidden gems in Ashland!

This is the worst Indian food I've ever had. We ordered mild and everything came super spicy. For the nonveg thali i got bones in a curry with a lot of so called biriyani and ober salted. Please dont order from here.

Ordered takeout - easy to use menu with lots of good options for vegetarians. Food was ready on time and pick up was easy. The fact that the place is inside an Indian grocer is a plus! Picked up sweets and chutney from the store after getting the takeout. Everything was well cooked and well spiced, the Masala Dosa ordered Medium was not as spicy as it could have been but was otherwise excellent (especially with some Coconut chutney). Samosas were tasty and not oily, and the Peshwari Naan was amazing (burnt in the right places and ways to make it crispy and delicious). Everything turned out great, and portions are a good size per person; always plan for leftovers.Parking: Street and lot always under construction
