This place is worth giving a shot. They serve large portions for reasonable prices. Consistently well kept and with great vibes. Will come back again.

We gave it a shot tonight and was quite impressed. Was not very busy, but service was fantastic; food was fantastic, and price point was right on point for the menu items. I recommend it. The owner actually waited on my family and I, and he was quite pleasant to chat with.

Jenna the bartender/barkeep was shy to come over to us,, but finally did. We both had wings, hot was not hot,, but mildly flavoured. My. Friend enjoyed the teriyaki wings. We both enjoyed visiting with Chris, a local, who we met walking downtown Ayer. It was because of him that we ate there.. Plenty of craft beers if you induldge. Cash duscount was nice.

I went to this restaurant because when Ft. devens was a base, I drank there in 1982-84. Much nicer, redone. Great staff, ladies friendly. Great food and presented stylishly but not expensive. Thanks for nostalgia!

After moving to in the area well over a decade ago, I had previously stopped in exactly 1 time and found it to be a total dive townie bar where if you were not born in Ayer, you absolutely were not welcome. Fast forward. Tried it last week after finding it under new management and found it to be a nice pub with very good food at very good prices. Plus the wine and beer selections were a pleasant and welcome surprise - Zenato pinot grigio and a coconut porter on draft, two of my favorite libations. Food selections, not a ton of choices but what I had was fresh and and well prepared. The prices were really great. Bartenders (where we ate) were very friendly and attentive. Thanks new owners for putting in your efforts. Will be back for sure

Came back to carlins the other day and it was the best it's ever been. The Reuben was wonderful, better than when I've had it previously. The dessert special was even better, dark rum bananas foster, it was outstanding. Will definitely continue to come back!
Wicked good food, lots of Kraft beers and awesome atmosphere....had a great time

Food was great! It's hard to find a good fish and chips but they sure do it right at Carlins. The house wings were great too! Place was very clean and the waiting staff was super friendly. Will definitely stop here again the next time I am in town .

I have been to Carlin's before the remodel and must say the the atmosphere has improved considerably. The food is delicious and they are always adding new things to the menu. I would recommend Carlin's to everyone....
