Recently stopped by The Next Stop Pub n Grill in downtown Ayer, Massachusetts for a lunch time meal . It’s conveniently located right in front of the Commuter Rail parking lot on Main Street in the former Carlins location. The restaurant is a nice place that was remodeled several years ago , nice job ! Food is tasty and they try hard to make a good meal . If gets (3) stars because the quality is average to above average and I’m sure will continue to keep getting better ! Kudos to The Next Stop Pub n Grill !
I only went there because I had a gift card but even if I had another one I would not be going back. I went with one other person and neither of us could eat our food. We had the American chop sewey and baked Mac and cheese and both were barely edible. Drinks were $4 a refill and my refill was 99% ice. I usually do not post things like this but the experience was just truly lacking. Hopefully things will improve but I Will NOT be back.
The lobster roll was huge and was super fresh. My fried has steak dianne, and it was delish. Great pub food.

Huge and delicious portions of food. Friendly service too. Do yourself a favor and get off of the train in Ayer to eat here.
I had the Cobb salad. It was huge - lots of shredded iceberg lettuce and plenty of blue cheese crumbles. The blue cheese wasn't as pungent as I like, but that's me. I would have liked more avocado - I doubt there was more than a quarter. Good bacon crumble both in terms of quantity and flavor. I got the blue cheese dressing on the side, which like the crumbles was on the mild side.

The service was bad , the food was horrible no flavor what so ever. Beer on tap was flat and same with the soda. The pub pretzel was good. French fries were not cooked through.
Great service. The baked scallops were well seasoned and had a good flavor.
It was a nice place, fun to watch the karaoke, and t was clean. The down side was that despite the fact that it wasn't overly busy, service and the food took forever. Frankly, we thought that they forgot about us.
Food is always fantastic. Everytime I order something from NSP, it's been something different and everything has been delicious. Wait staff is always friendly. Kid friendly place. Plenty of parking.
Kid-friendliness: Great place to bring the kids! Right next to the Ayer line, so if the kids get impatient while waiting for their meal to arrive, there's a safe distance to watch the trains.
Parking: Convenient parking lot with plenty of room!

Best experience ever. Delicious Food, Excellent Waitress, chef came out to check on us, Top Notch!
We always enjoy the food, the music was enjoyable and not too loud and the service was terrific!
I’ve been here twice with friends and will definitely keep coming back. Food is good, portions are huge and the drinks are delicious. There is live music from time to time and by the end of the night, almost everyone is dancing. Our service was excellent both times.
1st time here, Friday late dinner. Quickly seated, ordered apps and drinks. Food was really good, served hot and staff was friendly. Worth the $$$. Will come back again when we're in town.
I ordered take out, fries cold and soggy, over all meal was extremely disgusting. I will never eat there again!!!!
