This restaurant has been closed for well over a year, maybe 2 years? Always sad to see this after such an investment in time , money and hope
Went in on a Thursday evening, they were not busy. Waited a half an hour for the Hummus appetizer. Then waited another half an hour for our main course, which is a shame because the food was good. Not sure why the Beef Pot Pie was so spicy it made my nose run... It's a warm and inviting atmosphere but definitely not a pub atmosphere. Menu is expensive. We tried going four different times since they first opened, but won't be going back unfortunately. I had high hopes for the new place in town.

What a terrible disappointment! So over-priced for over-cooked vegetables and a piece of tough meat. Hard to cut through and way too chewy. However, sweet IPA beer from a great craft beer list.
Excellent service, food, and atmosphere! Well priced and fun! It's everything you go out to dinner for.
I thought it was great. Food was delicious, and service was wonderful! Will definitely go back! ?
No kidding, this place is great. My wife and I had visited here before, but the last time we went put us over the top. I had Duck Risotto , and she had Fried Chicken and Pickles. First the Duck: I love duck, but some places just don't do it as well as others. This was probably the best I've had. Crispy skin on a perfectly cooked half a duck, over risotto that was heaven. Outstanding. Now the wife's dish. You're thinking fried chicken and pickles, big deal. No... it was fried chicken with pickled vegetables. Now you're thinking, I don't like pickled veggies. We'll you'd be foolish not to try this dish. The crispy chicken pared so well with he pickled veggies I think I'll get this dish next time we visit. Nice atmosphere , and fair prices. Check this place out. I know, it's in Barre! Take the drive, you'll like it and the restaurant. See you there.
The Ice House Pub had to be one of the worst dining experiences I've had in the past 5 years. The food was severely overpriced. A pretzel was $12. We ordered the appetizer and a burger (a 18 dollar burger). It took us an hour to get each course. We ordered drinks that never came. I would strongly recommend finding any other place in Barre for a meal. This place is a yuppie ritzy restaurant that is not worth its salt or the space it occupies.
Place was pretty and staff was friendly. But it was cold inside and the food is overpriced. $14 for a cheeseburger, I want a burger to remember! It was not. It was small and rather tasteless. Usually too full for dessert, but still hungry we ordered chocolate truffle cake. It was ok, had to ask for whip cream to give it some extra zip. $8 per slice. Yikes. Won’t go back.
Outstanding food, drink and atmosphere. G.M. and chef are both experienced operators from the Boston restaurant world. I for one, am very grateful that they have both moved out to the simpler boondocks. They know what they're doing and how to make the magic happen. Combine this with the direction from the owners, and you have a very special place!

Love this place the burgers are great the waitress friendly and the ingredients obviously fresh. Theres even a separate area for smaller kids to play in while u wait 4 yr food. Nothing bad to say about this place something for everyone definitely coming back
A bit pricey but nice atmosphere, food is good and the beer selection is ok too
We had heard great things about this place and agree! We stopped for lunch on a Saturday. Only 1 other party was on the restaurant. The atmosphere was very nice - in the old Higgins Energy. It is very clean and has a nice fireplace. Our sever was fabulous and gave me beer samples when I could not decide. We ordered a burger, chicken fingers and a roast beef press. Everything was delicious. The fried chicken on Monday’s is supposed to be amazing so we will be back!
Staff was pleasant, polite and knowledgeable. I got the burger of the day and was impressed with its blend of bold and subtle flavors. The cheddar curd on this burger with the chipotle sauce was perfect. It really complemented the seasoned meat in the burger. The hand cut fries where a home run as well. The beer the waitress recommended was light and refreshing, exactly what I asked for. Hats off to the chef. This was one of the best burgers I have ever had. Lastly I just wanted to say Thank you for a great lunch.
This place is so good! Some friends and I went for their Harry Potter themed dinner on Halloween, and the staff and chef really went above and beyond. The restaurant was decorated so well (creatively, not tacky), and the menu items including cocktails were all HP themed. But, the most important part: the food was AMAZING. The restaurant has a new head chef, and she is so talented and nice (we got to meet her)! The creamy mushroom soup was the best thing I've tasted in a while, my burger was fresh and cooked perfectly, and my friends' chicken fell off the bone! If you're in the Barre area, don't sleep on this place! Amazing food, great service - it's SO worth checking out. We will be back again!
