About Stone Cow Brewery

Stone Cow Brewery offers a rustic farmhouse setting along the scenic Route 122 in Western Massachusetts. The establishment provides a pleasant outdoor space for adults to gather or families to spend an afternoon. Visitors can enjoy a variety of beers, including home brewed options, as well as a thick and tasty milkshake from the on-site ice cream booth. The brewery is known for its rotating selection of new beers and friendly staff, making it a shining star in the countryside of Massachusetts.

The atmosphere is beautifully decorated and calm, resembling the inside of a barn which evokes a southern dining experience. Guests are always greeted with a smile and can easily access everything, thanks to the layout of the building. The brewery features a massive parking lot, so visitors need not worry about finding a spot. There are also animals, live music, and a play area for kids. The food is highly praised, with dishes like Italian wedding soup, grassfed beef, cheesy garlic sticks, brick oven pizza, and french fries receiving top marks. The PB explosion sundae has also impressed many for its size and flavor. Stone Cow Brewery hosts events throughout the year, attracting over 250 people, making it an icon in this little town.

One of the coolest breweries visited, it features a beautifully restored main brew barn that feels like a Viking era great hall. The barn overlooks a family farm with cows, alpacas, pigs, and emus to view with a beer, along with stunning mountain views. The beer is very high quality, especially their NE IPAs. On the property, there is an ice cream shop, a large playground for kids, and a food area with a big stone fire that cooks most of the meals. All meals and ingredients come directly from their farm, ensuring proper and humane farming practices. This makes it a true Massachusetts gem.

For families with young kids, finding a brewery that everyone can enjoy is often hard, but Stone Cow Brewery manages it perfectly. The farm setting with open space is ideal, and the grass-fed burgers are delicious, complemented by their fries. Ice cream is also a favorite. The outdoor BBQ in summer is a popular event, but it can get very busy, especially during weekend events. The barn animals like pigs and cows are cute and may be pet or fed, which is fun, although some visitors wonder about the fate of the animals after they’ve been enjoyed as food, adding a layer of reflection to the experience.
